Voice Changers

I'm working on a new show for Tanuke, and I'm wondering if anyone knows a good voice-changing program, specifically one that can do a male-to-female change and not make it sound artificial. We've tried a couple of them and they all sound too metallicky. We toyed with the idea of a robot character, but it doesn't really work.

So, anyone know a good voice-changer program, free or otherwise?

(Yeah, I think I put this in the wrong forum. If you can move it, please...)
