Help for translating a story...

Hi there! I wrote a story a while ago but it is in French. I've got a lot of request to translate it, but, even if I'm pretty good in English, it is not my first language. So if anyone here is fluent enough in both language, would it be possible to translate it for me? The one who will do it will be allowed to post the result on his/her gallery (as long as I'm credited for the orgiginal text of course...)

Re: Help for translating a story...

I'm fluent in French, and write in English. In fact, I actually wrote a fantasy series on DeviantArt. I could give it a try, but I'd need some questions answered first:

1- How many pages does your story have all in all?
2- When do you want this done?
3- Would you be compensating in any way?

Well, if it takes me half an hour to do one page, then it would be around 35 hours to translate everything. Given that I work the regular 9 to 5, I can probably write a couple hours a day tops, except for weekends.

How much would you offer for the job?

As I said, I only can offer to the translator to publish the story in his portfolio. I know it is a lot of work and I would perfectly understandif you're not interested. I'm myself an artist. This is more a collaboration than a comission sadly.

I see. Well, I don't know if it's up your alley, but I was wondering if perhaps you could proof-read my own story as compensation. Given that you can read english well enough... I was hoping to publish, but I don't know if it's good enough.

A novel fantasy story. It's a setting I made from nearly 12 years of role-playing.

Re: Help for translating a story...

Well, I don't mind either way. I can send you the documents via email, or link you to the chapters on DeviantArt.

You can start here, but I warn you, the chapters after a while are a bit jumbled up (since I wrote them out of order): http://mistylear.deviantart.com/gall...94/Upon-a-star
