'Classic' Doctor Who partial TF

in season 22 (1985) the 2 part story arch has two partial female TFs. His companion starts turning into a bird with feathers, while this other woman starts becoming this reptile thing. Both have been captured and are strapped down to this table and are bombarded with radiation which causes their bodies to change

the tfs occur around the 16 min mark. In no way are these great TFs, I mean, it was from the 80s after all

I uploaded an edited version of this awhile back. In case anyone wants an easily downloadable version. http://www.process-productions.com/f...54&postcount=2

I redownloaded it to make sure it still worked.

Too bad the Doctor blew up the equipment before the transformations were finished. Peri would have been an adorable bird-lady.

There's a shot of Nicola Bryant (Peri) in the final stage makeup (only briefly seen in the episode before they revert) that is often used in publicity for the episode:

There's a Dr Who novel 'State of Change' which carries on Peri's transformation, something to do with being on an unstable planet. It's been a long time since I read it but the transformaton is drawn out, detailed and, unlike the episode, complete, with Peri accepting and even enjoying her transformation into a flying bird woman. Worth a read.

Very exemplary for the time period, and the notorious low budget they had.

Thank you for sharing this.

I liked Sil, that little Eel man, don't know, he was an interesting antagonist (villain is too strong)

Also; the final story arc of classic who, Survival, the Doctor brings Ace back to her home town of Perivale. Her old friends are being kidnapped by a race of alien hunters called the Cheetah People (yes they were REALLY called Cheetah People), who were shown the way to Earth by the Doctor's old enemy the Master.
On this world you either get eaten by the Cheetah People, or you slowly start to change into one of them. Although there are no real TFs, well there are just implied changes and other lame changes like really bad prop fangs or contact lenses. Honestly its just a bunch of people wearing cheetah fursuits (though they were really well done if you ask me, especially for 1980s standards)

I agree; he's quite an odious creature, sadistic but not "evil" per se. He's one of the rare classic Doctor Who antagonists who aren't there to conquer, enslave or destroy things, he's just a corrupt businessman - cheating people out of their precious ore in this story ("Vengeance on Varos"), or selling advanced weaponry to primitive warlords in another ("Mindwarp").

eventually I'll get around to this book. I found a torrent with all of the doctor who audio stories, so I can listen to it while I work. But I've got a long way to go....
