Arania
Hey all.
For those who haven't seen Arania's recent site update, she announced that she is fighting thyroid cancer. While she is doing a close on commissions, she has various pre-made works of art for sale, along with a Patreon account. Anything we can do to help, I'm sure she would appreciate. http://arania.kamiki.net/ https://www.patreon.com/arania

Re: Arania
Holy crap, that's just awful! I'll throw a few dollars her way, she's done so much art for this community. Hoping she beats this ugly disease.

Re: Arania
Good news (as a thyroid cancer survivor myself) that MOST thyroid cancer is easily treatable. Usually it behaves and stays put, and can then be killed with surgery and radioactive iodine. I did have a complication where I lost my voice for several months but thankfully the nerve mostly healed to the point where I can talk.
Of course, if Arania's health insurance sucks, that's another story. Just ONE of my surgeries + night in hospital was $40,000+. |

Re: Arania
Well my notion is that when life moves into "life sucks" mode
it doesn't rain but it pours IOW I found the artists timing for a recovery/comeback overly optimistic |

Re: Arania
I'm a cancer survivor too (testicular), though I had chemo instead of radiation. Didn't make it suck any less.
Congrats on your recovery, wanderhart.

Re: Arania
2 of the Aunts on my mother's side had cancer and lived. so there is a chance I could get it later on. I have reached out to Arania by email. I'm better off than most so I'll help if I can. she really has been a machine when it comes to pushing out content. I think she has earned our support in spades.

Re: Arania
I will say from experience, if you have to get cancer than prey for thyroid because it’s 90% survival rate, but yes my thoughts and respect to her to pull through!

Re: Arania
I remember reading on her page during the previous month that she had an important doctor's appointment. I then read the news on her latest site update. I really hope Arania has a quick and (relatively) easy recovery. She was one of the first TF artists I really liked and has always been super kind in all of my dealings with her.

Re: Arania
Wish her well. My father died of thyroid cancer a decade ago. He had one of the rare strains that was malignant. All I can say is I hope she beats it.
