I do believe you are mistaken. They dropped Roy who was Marth's previous clone and added the new guy. Apart from the final smash being slightly different I do believe they are as much clones as Falco and Wolf are clones of Fox.

Ike is not a clone in anyway. His neutral A combo is a punch > kick > slice for instance. He shares like.... 2 moves with Marth.

And just because you tell me it's not true doesn't mean it's not. I have reviewed his move set. It is only a slight variation on Marth and Roy. That is the way the cloning system has always worked, slightly change a move and slap on a different face.
