Circe's Spot the Source.
Hello! I've been given permission to post a lot of the works of art that I'm just incapable of finding the source. I have maybe hundreds of artwork that is horribly unlabeled and I have no idea where it came from. That being said, I usually do quite a bit of research to find these piece's of work. Technology has indeed made it easier for me to find out where these images come from but occasionally I do come up at a loss.
I want you to know, I've started this thread maybe 3 or 4 times in the last year usually with something I was about to post but then I would find the damn thing before I worked up the courage to post it. However, this one thing? I've never seen it before and my Search Fu has failed. Without further ado, i reveal my first set of images that I have no idea where it came from nor do I know who the artist is. Nor do I know it's title. You can kind of see why I've failed to find it. Any help? |

Re: Circe's Spot the Source.
Get out! I have him scheduled today on my list of artists to catalog and save. What are the odds?
UPDATE: Oh, I got him already. But I mistook him for Morphonix. Easy mistake, they worked together a lot. I'm also getting information on a possible link to an artist by Develop Her? I wouldn't rule out that Dr. Mephisto often got gifts/commissions from other artists occasionally. I've looked all over Mephisto's sites that are still up and through the Wayback but I know he had a lot more. Another Tumblr just dumped some of that work, but Tumblr has a nasty habit of resizing and compressing images. If I had known that, I wouldn't have bothered with my tumblr in the first place. But at least it serves as a way to update people on my progress. I've still got my fingers crossed I'll get a zip of that dump soon so I can peruse it myself. UPDATE 2: I found an old post with a few of Develop Her's work. I am providing a zip of all their work in one place since the artist's original hosting venue (A Yahoo Group) was no doubt deleted in the Great Yahoo Purge. Also zipping the file in case we lose the post to time. I had to search through Google to find this. Searching "Develop Her" on the Process Forums was yielding too many results. :P http://www.process-productions.com/f...d.php?p=126188 Last edited by ~Circe~; 03-14-2018 at 07:11 AM. |

Re: Circe's Spot the Source.
A new challenger has arrived. Okay, I just got finished looking at some of the master photomanipulators out there and this one. This one looks familiar but it really could be anyone's baby.
This looks like something from the likes of Digital Circe, TF-Warlock, LessThanHuman, or Something-Wild. I wouldn't say it's Nexus T or JPG24 caliber only because I've never seen either of them tackle fur this convincingly. I've also browsed through Wookie Rage, and DogGirlKari's work but if you're keeping up through how much I looked at, then I'm numbering in the thousands. So I could've easily missed this little piece tucked away in one of my artist folders. It's the fur that's got me stumped. That and the lack of a useful title. It was originally posted to Anonib, which was super helpful in retitling it with a time stamp that I doubt anyone can use. 152404SXAW_anonib.JPG Last edited by ~Circe~; 03-14-2018 at 07:29 AM. |

Re: Circe's Spot the Source.
Based on some digging it appears to be from an old Worth1000 contest. I am attempting to locate the original but having a bit of difficulty due to Worth1000 being absorbed into Design Crowd.

I'm like 99% sure it's Something-Wild. Something-Wild used to go by Baltymora, right?

Re: Circe's Spot the Source.
Here is an odd one. Well, even, I guess since there are two. Okay, yeah, bad joke. Anyway, I thought I had cataloged these already yet, when I was verifying the artist that I thought had created these, they were both missing. So, either I'm wrong about the artist or the artist removed them (or lost them.)
I thought both of these were by TFGhost. Can I get a second opinion? Or possibly the correct artist who did these? |
