Which really makes him kinda baffling, since he represents the official point SE jumped ship from Nintendo for the proper FF games and never returned.

Also, if they wanted a Final Fantasy character, why not someone from the first six games that WERE on Nintendo consoles? Or at least *gasp* a female character?

According to some of the people on a Final Fantasy forum I frequent, the reason is that he's basically the most well-known FF character. Like, even people who have never played the games/know next to nothing about them know about Cloud. So yeah, popularity/renown, basically. (Terra would have been an interesting addition, but I digress.)

Yeah. I mean, like I said, he was the only logical choice for them to put in. It was just fun to hope for someone else. Like Terra.

I do think it would be weird if we get him, but not FF7 in some form. And if we're going old school FF characters, FFIV's Kaine all the way.

Well, it doesn't seem to actually say that. It says there's a presentation next week, nothing about when the new character goes live.

Well, that was unexpected. I mean, I knew people wanted Bayonetta in the game, but I had no idea so many people had voted for her. Heck, I even figured she'd be off limits just because of the M-ratings her games got. But I'm not complaining!

Corrin falls into the "another Fire Emblem/anime sword user" category, but at the same time, he/she seems pretty interesting. It looks like their moveset is pretty unique, so much so that it doesn't even really matter that Fire Emblem also has 6 reps now. Something tells me that they were included to bolster sales of their game, though...

I bought Cloud and the Mii Fighter costumes earlier. The costumes are pretty fun (even though it's just the Geno stuff and a Chocobo hat for now) and Cloud handles pretty well. Sounds like other people feel the same way about Cloud, so that's good. That Midgar stage is pretty great, too! So pretty, and such nice music!

Tbh, I just don't care about Bayonetta at all. Where Corrin reminds me of Volga from Hyrule Warriors if he used water instead of fire and sounded like a bitch.
