Misty could do with a little work, Dawn is spot on, the only thing I will say is, by making the characters older, you need to change their facial structure and shape.

They look pretty good otherwise even though Dawn's missing her neck scarf. Though it's already been said; their eyes (mainly may/misty) and head shape make them look younger than they should be for the intended age, unless it's just the figure.

All in all I liked them.

The characters look like their anime counter parts, However, adding in shading would really help them. Probebly the reason you were yelled at was because the girls do not look older. They look preteen and do not look like abults.
