Re: Red Parrots' Update: June

So I finally got a chance to see it as I was out all weekend. Wonderful. Lori is damnright beautiful and a wonderful SW candidate. Loved the 4th wall stuff about photoshop and a nod to the last videos.

The ending was just prefect to end this. I can't wait for the Bride. Any ETA on when that will be out?

Re: Red Parrots' Update: June

Wow. I am stunned. This was by far the best shrinking material I've had the fortune to witness. Excellent work. I know process gets talked about a lot here, but it had enough shrinking to satisfy and the story was fun.

You mentioned sumguy and this felt like a sumguy story come to life. It was excellent and you nailed the tone and the technical aspects are all very good. Normally I avoid clips4sale fetish material since the people who are making it have lots of passion, but not the technology to pull it off. You have both.

Can't wait to see more.

That blue frosting was... Blue frosting.

2 tubs worth on a foam "pool noodle."

I actually got almost as messy as she did just rubbing the frosting over that thing. Never let it be said that this stuff isn't as fun to make as it is to watch.
Great idea, also using real frosting can help with the blending after chroma keying.

One of the reasons I love video production, odd ideas to create the desired effect. Like the sound of the T.A.R.D.I.S. in Doctor Who was created in the 60s using a metal brush along an old piano's strings then warped in post-production.

Wow, thanks again for all the kind words. I may have to return the gift "a sumguy story come to life," however, as I don't know that I deserve praise quite THAT high!

And mrsenoreddie, yes, The Bride is next. I'm not promising but I'm aiming for July. If my plans go well I should have something to post about every 3 weeks from now through September.

They won't all be large projects, but I'm laying plans to at least have something happen every few weeks.

I don't know why but the clip store never likes me. It always gives me uber slow download speeds when I have a really nice connection. I want to watch it so bad!

I'm sorry to hear this. I can't really help with tech stuff over there but I can say that I've had nothing but pleasant experiences dealing with their staff. If you haven't already, I suggest contacting them with your problem.

Best of luck!

I meant it. It's got that great feel of a sumguy story, especially since his shrinking folk are almost always willing...at first. When things go wrong there is a tongue and cheek style humor about it too.

I know I'd love to see something along the lines of the Fraternization story with a gaggle of willing ladies getting tiny. (I'd also love to see more of that story from sumguy, haha)

You and me both. I've tentatively spoken with 3 models in Philly who work together about doing a day with them, but at the moment I'm not making enough money to be able to afford their (deservedly) high cost.

I'm keeping them on the back-burner, though. We'll see how the rest of the summer goes.

I like having full control over what I do or do not ship out and taking money up front ties my hands a bit and gives me a "boss" so to speak. So I don't mind paying up front and slowly making it back over time.

My issue is that I don't have enough history. I need to know how old videos continue to sell over time. If the interest is there, they'll keep going.

And if it's not there then a kickstarter won't matter.

In other words, I have faith, I just need more data. And that takes time.

Not to worry, though! This is all long-term planning. I've already shot enough to get halfway through August and I have 2 more shoots planned then to get me thorough September!

Re: Red Parrots' Update: June

Lucky bastard, with your fancy models who don't cancel on you...grumble grumble...

In my experience, once they're out of their initial burst of interest, old videos do continue to sell, but at a very slow pace. They'll never die off completely, and the more and better clips you have, the better your residual sales will be, but it's nothing compared to the initial sales when they first come out. It's a perfect example of the 'Long Tail.'

Loved 'The Photographer,' BTW. While I always prefer long, drawn-out process, this one was cute and fun, and Lori makes a great shrinkee. I liked the bits where she almost hit her head on the ceiling, nice comedic touch. The tape measure and the donut were inspired! :-)
