Clovis- brand new short story, unsure of how to release.

So, I have an odd conundrum and I'd like to get some feedback from anyone willing. Based on a suggestion by Calibretto, I've written a complete new Breast Expansion short story. It's 12,000+ words, and involves lactation, something I'd never considered doing before.

So, this may be a stupid question, but what should I do with it? Release it for free as always? Send it to the BEStoryclub? Put it up on Smashwords? Ransom it for some Ko-Fi donations?

I'm not the most prolific author, but I have been around a while and do put a lot of effort into my works. So I'm asking as a sort of "If you were me, what would you do?" Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

BE Story club doesn't do much in the way of prose these days. If you're like me you don't have the throughput for a patreon page. After that I can't say I've tried out any of the options.

I don't see Patreon as an option as my output is too sporadic. I haven't really followed the storyclub for a long time, but it had really shifted to comics which I'd love to get back into.

If you can find someone that will pay for a story that's not in a book format, good luck.

You obviously feel like you've put a lot into this story. Demand for written word versus art, animation, and audio for transformation fetishes is low. And you have to cater to an audience, which is already slim, and your skills as a writer either make or break your product (I've seen some god-awful grammar since I came here).

My advice would be to keep it to yourself if you're hesitating about just putting it out there. Otherwise, take the plunge and just throw it out there. Your other option is to find a small digital publishing site and just market it on the board, but I would sincerely doubt you'd get much traction from that.

Full disclosure, the theme of your story as you've described it does not interest me at all. So take my advice as someone who is NOT interested in your product.

Formatting the story as a book isn't a problem. I actually find the idea of creating covers for my stories a fun challenge. Niche audiences are always an issue. I myself was never into lactation, but came up with an idea that excited me.

I wouldn't do a Patreon unless you have a bunch of art to put in the story.

Its tough being a writer of fetish content these days. Put it on Amazon or Smashwords, and you might make a few bucks if that will help validate the time you spent on it.

But if you do that I'd run it through Grammarly a few times to get it polished.

I guess I'm not very susceptible to advertising, because I've heard a thousand adds for Grammerly and never once did it occur to me to check it out. But I'll give it a look.
Patreon is definitely not under consideration.

That's the problem with ads the says so many of them and so many are utterly pointless that I've found I avoid stuff I've seen advertised.

I haven't decided yet on the new story, but I have taken the advice many have given me over the years and set up a Deviant Art page. I'll put up a link when there's actually something there, but I do have a question about posting stories there. Is it better to post a full piece, or if it's long enough that it has chapters, is it better to break them up and release them chapter by chapter?

I'm approaching this with new readers in mind and since I've got a bit of a shared universe I am starting back at the beginning. Old stories appearing there will be revised so it might be worth a look even if you're already familiar. New stories will follow.

One thing I'm thinking about is offering mini-commissions. Basically, if someone contributes I will write a caption for their photo or art at a rate of 100 words per dollar. I'm not exactly sure if this can be done, so any advice would be appreciated.

A night of frivolity for some sees another with their nose to the grindstone. A series of pranks reveals an odd and embarrassing side-effect and soon an unproductive night ends up being more than anyone can handle.

The cost is one dollar, though it will be free after a year. I hope some of you may check it out. It is a lactation/expansion story, something I've never done before.
I also have a lot of other stuff up there for free, including some pretty massive re-writes of my older stories.
