Pandemic themed Erotica

The latest hot controversial topic in the erotica community is wether or not a COVID themed piece (or pandemic quarrantine theme in general) is something people would want to read. Never mind the fact that Amazon may or may not be rejecting such titles en masse (or about to). What say ye?

Re: Pandemic themed Erotica

Seems in poor taste in my opinion. That's all I will say on the matter.

BustArtist made a couple quarantine storylines work, but it also was neither an incidental storyline (the cause of the expansion also caused the quarantine, people weren't randomly hooking up during a catastrophe) nor realised as a reflection on current events.

It could work, but you'd be taking a huge risk on a niche market.

Both of which came out long before a pandemic from a virulent strain came onto the scene in such a way that it all but grounded everything to a halt. And they also relied on standard sci-fi tropes such as militarized chemicals and abnormal solar radiation. There are also dozens if not hundreds if stories in existence that rely on a bacterial or viral pandemic as the catalyst for transformations. While I can't argue against a nondescript bug as the the macguffin for a quarantine story, going as far as to capitalize on an actual virus just comes off as shameless.

Taste is subjective. People exist who find overboard breasts tasteless (I'm not one of them).

I don't feel it's worth the risk, as exploitation is rarely successful by any measure.

Dolemite is the rarest of all materials for a reason.

Re: Pandemic themed Erotica

I'd say the timing isn't right or at least not for a pandemic scale of BE story to be appreciated by the majority of readers I fear.

Too be honest, I'd prefer the more isolated stories, affecting only a few characters. For example, the 'lab' accident done in so many different formats. May these be caused by chemicals, fancy tech or something viral, plenty of stories out there already.

I've read my share of stories and comic's tailored around a virus, even the weird spin-off based on zombie infections. Weirdly enough, with most of them, the more people that got affected (or infected), the less interesting the story became.

Re: Pandemic themed Erotica

Wattpad ( wattpad.com ) did a story challenge with this exact theme last month. Except, they didn't limit it to breast expansion. The people behind the challenge said it was mere chance that the covid-19 pandemic was/is happening at the same time.

I haven't been able to find the link, so I can't post it. Besides, the challenge is over anyway.

Re: Pandemic themed Erotica

Started work on The Bimbonic Plague months ago. It's coming to completion at a bit of a bad time, but it'll be months before it's illustrated and released.

Looking for a few test readers for the first issue, by the way.
