Re: Diversity in BE

Pfft. Race around here usually means whether something is even human or not. I wouldn't spend your time worrying about it.

Not worried at all, just curious and inquisitive.

Thanks for your input.

I think there's a fine line between introducing a character as a certain race and having their narrative reflecting that versus beating the reader over the head with it every time that character is discussed.
Yeah, for me, you simply give me a character that's cute, friendly, all-around good-natured or what have you, and I'm fine no matter what's going on.

I can give a general consensus with the large numbers of fetishists I've been in contact with over the years as well, and like with me, in the vast majority of cases, it's tended to come down to whether the individual matches one's preferences in what kind of a person they are physically and personality-wise, instead of what race they are. Out of a couple of hundred different contacts, I can say that "race" has only seemed to matter to about...five or ten people in that entire group? In cases like those, it always more or less came down to a "fetish" FOR a certain race more so than anything negative. Otherwise the great vast majority of people I've known seem to focus on who the person is rather than what they are.

I know that's a lot more anecdotal, but it might help a little even so.

Re: Diversity in BE

Oh it does. I figured more than a few of us might have a fantasy about a certain race because it would be outside their norm and give a more exotic feel to the story. Even if I add a character, like Radhi or Sung from The Supermarket, who easily come to mind because they are Arabic and Asian (Iranian and Korean more specifically) I try to build more into it than just having them as set pieces to fulfill the fantasy many of us may have to be with and watch a woman like them grow, I also want to make them into real people who interact with others in a workplace that just happens to be a trendy grocery store in a suburban town in the US. So hopefully, I can eventually keep readers interested along the way past the initial introduction

Re: Diversity in BE

I try to be racially diverse in my works as often as possible, because your initial realization is sort of de facto for the industry, extraordinarily white as a proportion. There are exceptions to this, but even a large fraction of those are only using the race as a fetish (Note the distressingly large amount of "Savage black man on unsuspecting white housewife" porn out there). I've done Arabian giantesses, Native american bondage, asian transformation, etc., and I've gotten specific compliments on "It's so nice to finally see a fetish work with one of (my people) as a protagonist!", so I think I'll keep doing it.

Re: Diversity in BE

I'm pretty sure the wonderbread guy only beats off to white people but that has little to do with BE I suppose.

Yeah, mainstream porn tends to be that way, I try to embrace both sides of that without alienating anyone, but I don't know if it works well or is even possible.

Thank you both for your input.
