The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

If no one has seen this film yet that's currently out, it's about a person been born old, and gradually growing younger as the year goes on.

It's a pretty good movie and they really did well in showing the process of Bradd Pitt de-aging throughout the years.

As much as I can't stand Brad Pitt..I'll most likely see this movie. It has a solid story behind it.

I'll make a mental note to see Valkyrie first. Tom Cruise > Pitt.

OT: "We must KILL HITLER!" That line makes me laugh.

Valkyrie is real history and was actually quite well done.

I could give two shits that Cruise is a member of a whackjob religion. Most religions are plenty fucked up anyway.

They're just socially acceptable.

There's one thing that stands out about Scientology though, the fact that they sue anyone who speaks ill of them, sometimes worse.

Say what you want about Catholics or what have you, they may not be fond of their critics but at least they don't sue them.

Seriously, to compare the crazy shit scientologists do to pretty much any other religion is a pretty big leap. You have to go back to the dark ages to find the kind of organized, sanctioned vindictiveness by a religion.

I'm not seeing Valkyrie because I won't give one red cent to that nutjob or his cult. If I could retroactively stop myself from paying to see Top Gun or Mission Impossible I would.

Actually, you could probably go back an hour and find someone that was tortured or murdered in the name of religion. Not that hard, but this is waaaaaaaay off topic now.

Re: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

personally i think Cruise got me when he unexpectedly played Les in Tropic Thunder, i really do want to see Ben Button since David Fincher is directing it ( HE DIRECTED FIGHT CLUB AND SEVEN FOR THOSE WHO DON"T KNOW)

Re: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Quick review:

The framing narrative was irritating as sin. Blanchett's 'old' voice was gratingly bad and really took you out of the story.

The 'story proper' was quite satisfying, though and the implied and thoroughly natural AP was cute.
