Infant to Adult/Adult to Infant AP-AR thread

This was something I was wondering how common it is. kids to adults is one thing but I feel like baby transformations aren't as common, which I always find are some of the more fun transformations both AP and AR wise. I figured this could be a thread to point out if anyone has favorite or interesting baby transformations, whether it be baby to adult or adult to baby.

Some of my favorites being in Nana Seven of Seven episode 26 where Hitomi goes from being a baby (though we never see how or why she is a baby) to being in her mid 20s. I still standby this is one of the best AP's I've ever seen with some fantastic process, and pretty funny dialogue.

I also really like the group AR in Classicaloid where the protagonists along with other background characters are ARed into babies with some good process. Though the one drawback to me is that they didn't really show enough of the group AR and only really focused on the main cast and one small group of characters with the female lead.

Yeah. I think age transformations including babies is probably the rarest. One of the very reasons why this fetish is not as popular as others is because it makes some people feel uncomfortable as it usually involving underage girls. So stuffs featuring infants can come off as especially sensitive to the public and are therefore pretty rare among media. When they happen in anime, the theme would usually have to be somewhat light-hearted, narrative, artistic, comedy, and/or fantasy, just like those episodes of Nana Seven of Seven and Classicaloid.

Among my favorite transformations, the one I found most interesting would be from the old anime movie "Paprika", where the female protagonist becomes a giant baby that sucks in all the nightmares and grows into an adult and brings the world back to normal. I found it interesting because it introduced me to the combination of absorption and AP, where the character takes in certain amount of mass into her belly, and that mass visibly expands and converts her body towards maturity.

As for my other favorites I can immediately think of, they would be the 3D animations from apfan101 whom I created a thread about some time ago.

Yeah, I've always found it interesting because baby transformations always seem to be ones that have pretty good ideas behind them, both in story and in execution, whether it be comedic or serious.

Also, I completely forgot about Paprika, that is a fantastic AP in terms of process, with a more unique way of transforming, again, absorption causes her body to mature. Though I do find it sad it becomes a little more obscured near the end.

Re: Infant to Adult/Adult to Infant AP-AR thread

Looking into the Paprika scene I found something that makes me wonder. Are there two different versions of Paprika? I ask this because I saw something on Visibletime I wondered if the film had two different cuts. I know it's common for films to have different cuts with differences between Theatrical and DVD, but I know I had seen this particular version of the images on Visibletime. In this version Paprika and the villain aren't slightly transparent, the body is completely non transparent skin, also the villains face looks slightly different and the lighting of the scene is brighter than in the version of the film that I've seen. I know I've seen this version of the clip on Dailymotion and it's no longer there and the link to the clip on Visibletime doesn't work anymore, so I'm curious as to if there is a different version somewhere out there on DVD or somewhere out on the internet where there's less enhanced animation.

Yeah. I am not too sure about it either, but I think the film was remastered in 4K after the director "Satoshi Kon" passed away. From what I've read, it seems a couple of his films along with Paprika were remastered all together for showing in some film festivals as a tribute to his death.

Anyway, it does seem like the original version is no longer available online as most of them were probably replaced with the new version. The funny thing is, I believe I have the DVD of the old version back at my parents' house. I will have to check when I get back. But trust me, you really aren't missing anything. The remastered version, other than the difference of the skin transparency, is a straight upgrade and has better and vivid process.

Also, fun fact. There was apparently a live adaptation in development for Paprika back around 2010, but the release of the movie with similar theme, "Inception", seems to have led it to be cancelled. Man, that age progression sequence in live action would've been something to behold.

As an AP fan myself, I understand what chriskim019 is talking about in regards to AP not being as popular as other processes.

I just remembered another transformation I'm upset I didn't bring up before. The AR in Brigadoon: Marin to Melan. While quick, I think the animation showing the transformation is done really well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvl2A9NC-K0

A classic. Although, I prefer process with more oomph than ones that are way too smooth.

And I remembered a few more AP ones as well.

One is from an old hentai series called Urotsukidoji III:

And another is from a recent Japanese pachinko game:

Yea thats both a problem and a plus. The animation is great,,but its too smooth at the same time, not really showing off enough full transformation. The day we get an AP/AR that's as good as the one in Nana Seven of Seven or Kizumonogatari is gonna be quite the day.

I also just remembered another great AR, this time from Gargoyles. Hyena and Wolf are both deaged by Jackal/Anubis, Hyena into a baby and Wolf into a puppy, which is a bit odd given he's a wolf/man hybrid. They RN back to their adult forms at the end and the shrinking de-age animation is done really well here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9XxK6L7vPk
