Blood Moon Movie

Apologies that I couldn't find the existing thread for the Blood Moon movie. I started a new one.

Trailer here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40jzJs1FwQs
Available on Sep 1.

I've been looking around trying to find if there's any process in this one. I hate speculating on this kind of thing, and I always steer clear of these discussions, yet I knew I had seen the concept of the Werewolf Western before. My mind kept coming back to something I had seen years ago, and then it hit me:

I was wondering if it was too much of a coincidence that these both had the same storyline and name... turns out it's the same writer! Judging by the teaser from 5 years ago it looks like there will probably be some female TF. Going from some of the reviews I read it will probably be the Sarah Norman character.

I hate to speculate, so don't hold me to it.

K

According to the vimeo trailer, it will probably be a female tf, I hope it would not be like love bite, which seemed to have female tfs in the trailer, but finally it had'nt

Re: Blood Moon Movie

The vimeo trailer makes this look quite promising especially given scenes showing the female lead beginning to change. The new teaser almost seems like an entirely new movie with the same basic premise though. I wonder if that TF scene remains intact?

Either way, I'll gladly purchase this on the 1st if it's available digitally and let everyone know what the deal is.

I just think it's odd that the shots in that trailer that show the woman the next morning, covered in the blood of others after clearly having reverted to human form after turning into a werewolf the night before.... also show her clothes being completely intact as if her face and hands were the only thing that changed. The buildup looks good though, just, fully clothed the next day... magic pants trope... hate that.

Re: Blood Moon Movie

Did some research on the completed film and it seems like it would be wise to discount the Vimeo trailer altogether. Seems like the final product differs drastically from what was teased there, and the new trailer is much more representative of the final product although I could be mistaken. Doesn't look like they even have any of the same actors at a casual glance.

Can confirm that it seems like the werewolf with the biggest transformation scene is indeed a woman based on an interview that I found. Don't want to say who in case anyone cares about spoilers. Seems like it is being distributed digitally as well so I'll pick this up right away on the first and see if there's anything worthwhile there.

For my part, I'll be going in without high expectations and probably end up pleased with any transformation content present. If you don't expect the moon these things usually don't turn out utterly awful.

Re: Blood Moon Movie

Its out on vimeo

https://vimeo.com/ondemand/bloodmoon

I ordered the dvd though so I wont get until Friday, I think.
I might try and cancel the dvd and just rent it from videmo.
I hate to get excited or have any expectations shattered though but I can dream. The reviews and interviews do get me excited. I feel like a masochist, I tell myself everytime, "dont get excited" but I do, and everytime I get let down. Hopefully by this weekend I can report back with good news.

Re: Blood Moon Movie

Definitely not worth any money. There's a female transformation but it's the skin ripping kind, and she's fully clothed so all you see is a slight ripping of her calf as her skin rips and we see claws pushing out of her fingertips. Her face changes but we don't see it, and she ends up looking like a female wolfman with longer fangs and that's it. There's a slight revert at the end but it's not female and we only see a cheesy effect of the fur fading back into skin. We barely even see the actual monster that much until the last 10 minutes of the film and while I think the suit itself isn't bad, with no transformation scenes it plays out more like a pure horror / slasher film than a monster movie. I don't think it's worth even a rental, but for $4 I guess it's an okay film if you're into old, western style slasher flicks. Next!

Re: Blood Moon Movie

To be honest I think we're seeing a trend of really good werewolf films that are pretty light transformation and I think this is one of them along with when animals dream and the furred man. I've only lightly skimmed it but it really does do a pretty good job of building tension. Granted I am unsure why they couldn't make a visually stunning skin rip transformation ala trick or treat but I guess we just have to wait until october for trick r treat 2/ the comic.

I would never put "stunning" and "skin rip" in the same sentence... well, some people love that, but for me is the third worst solution to solve a TF, just behind poof and off-camera ones. The problem is that it lacks sexiness completely.

And back to the movie, it was what I expected. In fact, the upcoming werewolf movies and shows give me very bad vibrations... as usually I must say.
