WHERE WE STAND:

Okay. So I've been looking into alternate avenues to produce the content you were originally promised. Dave is being spectacularly unhelpful and uncommunicative, so it looks like this may all fall on me. That said, I don't plan to leave you people hanging, so I have a couple of possibilities. I'm going to be taking votes to see which option the contributors prefer. I would've put a poll in the thread, but I don't think there's an option to go back and add one later, so just post a reply with your vote.

1. Get the project made as a Flash animation. This will be far less expensive, so I'm likely to get it made much more quickly. There also won't be any content restrictions (i.e. full nudity, sexually explicit material).

2. Get the project made live-action with a different studio. Obviously, live action has its advantages over animation, but this will be much more expensive and consequently take me longer to pull off. There will also probably be limitations on the nudity and sexually explicit content.

My vote would depend on the subject of each project. I know it's still an early concept but do you know how interactive the flash project would be? Or what the subject of each are?

At this time, I'm only considering the core project, Freeze Frame. The remaining few clips would depend on how that goes.

The Flash animation would probably be mostly a movie, with limited interaction (except maybe a couple of Easter eggs).

Well i'm going to vote for a flash animation. i'm kind of burnt out on the SW films that are out there right now. besides Missa's and Red Parrots stuff most studios use the same effects and film tricks we've seen 1000 times before. they miss the passion that those two studios seem to have for the fetish or at least film making.

I hope with a flash animation maybe it will have a bit of interactivity. at least its something we really haven't seen before

good point on what's out there right now, a good SW producer could make a killing right now

So would I be correct in assuming that you guys aren't particularly fond of Media Impact/Shrinking Dreams?

I almost forgot about them. I haven't seen anything SW related from them in a while. Loved the last SW flix Karma Reduction. Where Media Impact really shines is with the POV content. I would not be against them to be honest. i wish he would have done one or two more in the same style as Karma Reduction. if you were to mix the POV and shrinking content in the same way you might have something. its just too bad they don't do full nudity

I usually enjoy it if it's "clean" (well edited) and if the process is decent.

I may be in the minority, but if you think you can do a good live action, I'd say do that because there hasn't been one in a while. Hopefully people are looking for one.

qzar, I did quite enjoy the two sites you mentioned. They had decent videos. I also wish a bit more nudity, admittedly.

Okay. Based on the response I'm seeing, I think what I'll do is get Freeze Frame done as a flash animation, and one of the other clips (shorter, simpler, and less prohibitively expensive) done live action, possibly by MI. Does that sound good to you guys?
