Wonder Woman 2 Casting for Cheetah

Admittedly, it's too soon to tell if there would be any actual transformation into a cat-creature as opposed to it being some kind of theme robot-suit or something, but still.

Also, Kristen Wiig is reportedly the top pick.

Weird.
I would have expected Kate Beckinsale, Sienna Miller or Charlize Theron; not that unfunny lady from Ghostbusters.

Isn't Cheetah supposed to be incredibly striking, lithe and sensuous?

Yeah, it's very strange if accurate. You'd expect a match for Gal Gadot, not (an allegedly) comic actress best known for plain jane roles.

Please, don't get offended, but your naive attitude towards female TFs in mainstream productions is at the same time tender and disheartening. Do you really believe that you won't have some offscreen deception or CGI ultra fake lack of sensuality product?
What a pity. I mean, I'd hope you were right this time, but you have to face the facts. Really.

Casting an actress that requires a fully CGI onscreen representation seems unlikely considering how much time and money, to little success, the last major DC production poured into digitally removing a moustache.

Is this English?

What it will do is main stream (maybe) a tf and an anthro cat character to a level I don’t think we’ve seen before and create a slew of Halloween costumes, porn parodies, makeup tutorials, and maybe even tv episode of shows where they features a cat lady. Basically it’s mainstreaming characters like this to the culture and maybe even marvel would push out tigra. Even if the tf is dissappointing or the makeup is disappointing , it could get the ball rolling for mainstream content.

Also Kate Beckinsalw would have been purrfect.

It's kind of odd, actually.
Just yesterday i remember reading an article that popped on my facebook feed, about how Emma Stone was "close" to landing the role and whatnot. Then, a while ago, i saw a note linked on 4chan about Emma turning down the role.
Now they're mentioning Wiig, someone who's well-known for "comedic" performances and it's not precisely the kind of actress you'd expect to see as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah.

My guess (and i hope i'm wrong), it's that we're stuck with crazy cat lady Cheetah with Superfriends and not the bloodthirsty werecat from current comics. And as you say, i'd expect someone who could match Gadot and look fierce in the process.
At best, we get leather pants Cheetah from One Year Later.
At worst, Kristen Wiig in a Chester Cheeto onesie.

Re: Wonder Woman 2 Casting for Cheetah

Yeah, Wiig is a stupid choice. And does anybody else think Angie Everheart would have been perfect for Tigra back in the day?

Re: Wonder Woman 2 Casting for Cheetah

Yea this dosn't make a lot of sense, Kristin wiig has her moments in comedies from time to time but she has no experience in an action role like cheetah. She lacks any form of "cat like" personality or physicality that this role would need. It's like making someone like Kate Beckensale into a "nerd" by just putting a pair of glasses on, its not believable.
