Re: “Bonehill Road” werewolf film

Quick update: It screened in Kansas City recently, and the reviews are coming out, mostly positive. In regards to the TF scene, one review wrote not to expect Rick Baker-level work, but it was still impressive for a low-budget indie movie. Also, apparently it will be a “very painful” TF, which is somewhat disappointing to me, since the director originally told me it would start out painful but then gradually become pleasurable. (I know many people on this board prefer a painful TF, so that won’t be an issue for them.) I managed to find one photo of the TF scene (posted below) of her claws popping through her fingers. A recent Indiegogo backer update revealed that our rewards (DVDs, etc.) will be shipped out “around Halloween,” so if you backed this project, expect to receive your goodies sometime next month.

Copies of this are apparently shipping out very soon. Hoping to have mine sometime next week. Will give impressions if someone else doesn't give them first. Unfortunately I don't have a disk drive in my current PC so I won't be able to rip the TF.

You shouldn't rip it anyway.

It's kind of a middle finger to all the people who made the movie, not to mention all the backers of this project who were behind it from the very beginning. Why buy the DVD if someone is just going to rip the TF? Most of the ripped TFs from movies on here are old, not ones that weren't even officially released yet. For the sake of courtesy, at least wait a few months after the DVD drops.

People tend to rip the TFs from movies/TV shows/cartoons right away I think you're mistaken there. I also happen to be one of those backers to which you're referring. It's just a clip, I have no intention of trying to upload the full movie and clips tend to be pretty easy to protect under the law so I wouldn't even be doing anything legally wrong here. This community as a whole pretty much depends on such uploads, in fact, and if all the uploads in the past weren't wrong I don't see how this one would be either.

You do whatever it is you want to do, but I know that people are going to be far less willing to back these kinds of projects in the future if someone is just going to immediately upload the TF as soon as it's released--in this case, before it's even released to the general public.

And I know people that will want to see the TF before they spend a dime on the movie. As for myself, if the TF is good I will buy a copy of the movie even if the clip is uploaded somewhere and easily available. Cursebearer isn't wrong, we have people ripping and uploading TF clips the day a TV episode comes out, the day a movie is released. Making special exceptions for things that were kickstarted is a little silly and a bit hypocritical.

A lot of people wouldn't buy the movie at all, no matter how the TF looks. A good number of people are thankful to find out if a TF is bad from someone who was willing to buy a copy just so that they wouldn't have to waste their own money to find out that it's bad. No matter what, not everyone is going to be happy.

But I tell you what, If I'd made a movie with a transformation scene I'd feel proud of it if people were ripping the TF scene and uploading it to TF related sites. I'd feel insulted if they didn't.

The TF community will not comprise a significant portion of the sales for these projects; if I thought they would, I wouldn't do this. It's not like we're talking a pornographic crowdfunding thing here, or distributing a Missa video where the TF is the point. This is a slasher/horror flick and it should be able to stand up as such. I also care more about sharing with the community than hoarding for my own benefit, especially when the benefit is as insubstantial and potentially nonexistent as this.

Re: “Bonehill Road” werewolf film

Was hoping to get my copy by now but it looks like they are still having problems and are still shipping them out. Heard from a "friend" that yes the tf scene is good and shows great detail and that its actually a good movie overall as well.
