Lalola comes to China - "The Secret of Women"

Hello there,

A curious and quite an intriguing find from the guys on Metamorphose.org, a little explanation is need for what is quite a well rounded attempt at the familiar formula.

Recalling the Lalola franchise's international success in the late 2000's - originally the Argentinian telenovella concerning the gender bending hi-jink's of a cursed playboy and his nascent, feminine alter-ego - the license made its way around the world and even inspired a somewhat misbegotten American pilot in Eva Adams, as some here might recall.

Still, after some perusing, it seems that there is now a Chinese rendition of the now established formula in the context of east Asian culture and gender dynamics, albeit with a liberal inflection to these normally metropolitan narratives.

Still, along with the now recognized formula, the transformation is nicely realized without pushing convention too much. Also, the cursing scene is uniquely well done too - swordplay used to conjure and cast the spell affording a nicely compelling interpretation of the story
