Shantae Kickstarter

So, anyone saw this?

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...alf-genie-hero

Shantae was a pretty good platformer in its time, and the main character performed a lot of transformations (by belly-dancing no less!). Seems relevant to our interests, don't it?

They're taking Paypal too now, if anyone's interested. Only five days left- trying to spread word really fast now!

Re: Shantae Kickstarter

I really don't remember Shantae as a good game, I don't know... used to be average to me which might be good since I had few games on my GBC. But okay I guess, WayForward has good cred on the gaming streets (yeah bad pun) so I guess it can be a good game.

Looks cool. First time I've ever backed a kickstarter, pretty convenient the way they let you do it through Amazon too.

Re: Shantae Kickstarter

If anyone wants to back a KS that actually needs the support, and they like miniatures, then perhaps I can suggest Golem Arcana. Half of the Shadowrun team is working on it, including a friend of mine, and it's the kind of high risk venture that wouldn't work without KS.

Re: Shantae Kickstarter

Excluding the big 1.3million, I'm interested in the 800k Goal.

The new Genie is cute, I hope she'll have more screen-time besides tht particular chapter.

And by the way, If we don't reach 1.3mil by the time the KickStarter ends, then you can still donate through Paypal here:

http://www.wayforward.com/shantae-half-genie-hero

They they'll have the Paypal open for a few months, so we can at this point in time, assume 2 months at the maximum or until we reach 1.3mil.

LETS DO IT PEOPLE!!!

The PAYPAL Donation page shows how much money is donated and is updated every 5 minutes.

http://www.wayforward.com/shantae-half-genie-hero

There is a little under $485,000 till the big 1.3 Mil

This will only be open for 1 more month or if it reaches the Final Stretch Goal of 1.3 Mil.

Re: Shantae Kickstarter

Wow, Chachazero, you sure are fired up for this one.

I take it you have been a fan of Shantae for some time? I heard of this the first time only a few weeks before I got asked to help spread the word. In fact, I had to check Gamefaqs to be sure there were transformations in the game in the first place.

In fact, since my other friend was so fired up, I wound up doing some absolutely crazy things to promote this game. (No, I didn't streak naked through the streets while carrying a flag...) I went on dA and looked for genie, videogame and monster girls groups, noted all their admins, founders and mods to see if anyone wanted to spread the word. Dredged up the most popular Shantae-related deviations of all time, and bumped everything in the first page if it didn't have a comment there yet mentioning the thing.

Hell, there were anime sites about monster girls- as it was illegal to advertise in them, I'm sure I'm already banned [Hey... it was late. Don't judge me], but I got some dAs, and contacted the moderators and admins to ask them to spread the word where they could. They were Swedish, so there's that too.

I think, if I may, that we've already achieved COMPLETE! GLOBAL! SATURATION! in the English language. Only thing left to think of, far as I can tell, is to spread the word in other languages. I wonder if they will think of selling the game in Japanese? I'm sure Keiji Inafune would be able to help with that for the right price: they said they're working with Inticreates and Comcept. Anyone saw that pic of Shantae and Mighty No. 9 high-fiving?

This is what I recommend to our friend spreading the word about Golem Arcana too. Golem Arcana seems to have had extremely fanaticized support, from the looks of the upper tiers... all of them are all gone, while Shantae had all the top cream barely touched. Try asking your foreign friends to find places to spread the word.

Sadly, I didn't. I was a little torn between this and Mighty No. 9. My love for Inafune's work(s) won me over in the end. However, I did donate $35 for Shantae; I still love the half-genie hero, just not more than Beck & Call.
Sorry.
