Enemy pokemon always get the full five plus turns for status effects. In reverse, the player never gets the full effect, it always seems to wear off without even a turn passing. <_<;

Still, ten (eleven? Do we count the initial attack itself?) turns is a lot of time to remain hypnotized.

Y'know, it's possible that they get jolted out of the hypnisis because things are shocking/stabbing/barbecueing/freazing them the whole time.

It's likely that without that, and with only likely pleasurable sensations, the attack would probably last considerably longer, maybe until the next time they sleep? That always removes status ailments in RPGs...
