Re: Attention shoppers! Custom-made SW clips!

I don't view any investment in Dave Sammon's studio to be a good use of someone's funds. The man has not improved in a significant degree for nearly 10 years. He hasn't been able to keep up with the pace of technology.

In his defense, his selection of models has increased since he first started. But he seems to be at a competitive disadvantage to the likes of, say, Missa, Katelyn Brooks, or others who have at least shown massive improvement or present talent with modern-looking effects and techniques.

I don't know Dave personally. But he seems to be in a perpetual state of experimentation, with a high lack of polish in his released products. Please do not give any money. Direct it elsewhere if you want to have something created with a good degree of quality.

Correction, TWO of your five posts thus far.

Can I see what -you- have contributed to the community, Animas? Other than negativity and trying to ruin our project?

He's not worth the energy spent responding to him, Qzar.
I'd suspect he's another of those Wall Street jackasses who can't stand seeing indie groups trying to improve, but I've really no idea what to make of him supporting other indie artists.
Personal history with one of your perceived contracts, perhaps?

I responded to your posts in the General Discussion thread, Lore.

Should I assume this means Animas is an alt of yours?

Firstly doubtful.

To start off with, I really don't like to be negative or seeing blunt negativity but I have purchased "too many" 11fifty produced clips, which include Qzar & Jane/Waspworth's that overall I have never fully seen as fully successful projects/clips.

I will say the ideas are mostly good, I will say Jane has got talent for SW content, even before she started to be nude (which I still feel is not always needed, can change between the two really, also kudos on her leopard spots tattoo, it's impressive).

Now to be blunt, I have done video production for the last few years, I am not the best but I have a "good eye." and can plan extremely well. I can give positive reviews on the plots for a number of videos but the production side to 11fifty video is severely lacking.. I was greatly surprised to see that $2000 was put into the studio already, but besides that selling a clip where the camera is moved during the clip has no excuses, even if your time is limited.

If I had limited time constantly, I would severely plan my shoots to use every second with storyboard, set layout plans, shot lists, etc, etc. If there's a passion for this to work time will be made to plan, a lot. Pre-production planning is normally unbelievably longer than the time shooting for very good reasons.

I was once told, "everything in a shot/scene is put there for a reason by the director." You are not Hollywood studios but that applies to anyone who wants to produce good video content, especially if they want to sell it. This is not the first project that has been tried by 11fifty, there was the 11fifty Film Project: Love Potion (still linked on 11fifty's C4S shop via "Vote for Our Project" link), which actually seem to be going on still even though it was advertised by offbeatr making it a featured project.

I want to help but i'm not "another of those Wall Street jackasses who can't stand seeing indie groups trying to improve.' I'm quite poor but I try to fund projects where I can. I just cannot see myself supporting this project, the production mishaps of the number of clips I bought so far (see below). From the clip showing the camera being moved & codecs not working universally, even in VLC. I want to help but I do not see any new sign of improvement for 11fifty. No hate from me, just stating what I have seen & given light opinions from a neutral standpoint from a non-leecher that doesn't see the number of posts from a user meaning anything.

Not even all of them are there, including earlier 11fifty & Qzar's Jane clips.

(apologies for any grammar problems, a bit tired from work, posted because I have been a regular customer)

Well, see, that's my concern here. It's possible to require additional funding to truly deliver a quality product, but is that the case here? This sounds more and more like a cash-grab, and I genuinely worry if Qzar is being taken for a ride by someone with no intentions of ever improving his craft. Saying "he'll get better with X" is rather a moot point when he consistently defies that logic.
