in the 6-7 years I've kept track of tf authors the output from the
tf author community of suitable childrens stories equal's
zero=nadda=naught=none=zilch

I've had to go to the childrens section in the public library for
such material

such material generally has a
"you can go home again' feel to it
imagination
usually a tf in 1-5 lines or spread out and thinned out through the
whole book
knowledge of the traditions behind the tf

I'd recommend
"Dragons of Spratt County"

which has a cold blooded woman scientist obsessed with beauty wrinkle
cream turn into a dragon

In the end she remains alive,the kids remain alive,and as a dragon
she can boss around the other dragons( that 'you CAN go home"
quality to a childrens story)
