I suppose you missed the whole point of their transformations being based on their natural desires for survival. He was gluttonous so he became something that could feed on anything in the world and at the end, her sheer desire for food (seeing she couldn't digest anything as far as plants go) caused her to become something that can feed on the beasts of the world.

Huh. I just read those chapters, and I gotta say that's a really interesting manga. Some parts are cute, like that little ball/monster kid and the friendship between those high-schoolers, and some parts are just heartbreaking, like what winds up happening to them. Eaten by the one you love, yikes. And some parts are just cool. It's the reactions to the transformations that seems especially engaging. Not to mention, the art is impressive and those women are ridiculously sexy. Very nice find, Sutibaru. Something worth keeping up on.

Nah, nah. She had been some one who had enjoyed eating plants and had gotten her human edible things like bamboo shoots as well as i'm pretty sure less obviously once human meat. But she couldn't eat any of it so she must have already been a apex preditor (that is she could only eat the flesh of large animals) that was still in human form. Also he first transformed to defend his sister from the tiger guy which could have been done as a big cat, a wolf or something. Also if she was going to be a carnivor why not a mamalian one like a tiger, Lion or wolf?

The transformations in this is very reminiscent of the devils and demons that Go Nagai would design.

'Fraid not man. The Scanlators haven't translated/picked up the latest volume just yet.
