AUTO TRANSLATION FOR TEH WIN!

There is a little subtlety in Japanese text that many folks miss when glancing at a page. Usually the Nihon text will have Kanji coupled with the intermediates of the Japanese language (hiragana and to a lesser extent Katakana), whereas Chinese folks don't believe in intermediaries in their text opting instead to go with nothing but Kanji. Interesting side note that originally, monks wrote buddhist(ic?) texts in Japan all in Katakana. Only choosing to officially induce the Kanji structure afterward to make their lives easier (not to mention to keep from heads asplodin'). The very thought of reading a document entirely in Katakana or Hiragana makes my head asplode. Made my Chinese CS teacher kind of pissed when I showed him some Kanji I wrote on a test I took and asked me what the hell the squiggles were out beside the Kanji.

テキスト te ki su to- Englishing up the Japanese vocabulary aka Text. Often done with quite a few words that have to be imported from various places around the world.

I have to say that my language interpretation skills begin and end with the german/latin derivatives. Mostly I can identify spanish and/or latin due to foreign language classes in school, and if I see french or german I can usually nail that too. Russian isn't all that hard, but once you get into eastern languages, I'm afraid I never learned how to differentiate them. From Jumba's example, it looks like Korean tends to have less complex characters, but other than that, I'm at a loss.

Question and comment.

Question: Perhaps we should also allow people to ask for re-uploads in the request thread, since the material is otherwise unfindable?

Comment: I'd say his request was fairly polite. Yes, it's an old thread, but he wasn't rude about it. Seriously, what the fuck? There is pointing out their mistakes to them, and there is completely over reacting. Decide your camp now.

Lemme get near my desktop again and I'll pop a megaupload up or something...

-edit-
Your Megaupload, sir. Please excuse the delay.
