When you say flawed can you explain again? Flawed as in the whole thing is bad or just a lot of minor mistakes that I can't see. I need to know these things if I want to get better? For me the legs and hands are the only thing I see wrong, otherwise it much better then most of my other drawing T_T

1. The eyes aren't that great... the only thing that tells me those are eyes is the pupil iris spot... you need to define the shape more. 2. the breasts aren't that great, they kinda look like they're pasted there like a sticker... i say that because they look like there on top of where the shirt is instead of coming out from underneath when she lifts them. 3. The shape of the head is really bad >_>, it looks like you either drew a "V" toget the bottom half of the head and then started drawing the hair over it to take care of the upper half of the head or started with the hair on the top of the head and then drew the jaw line after which makes it look kinda bad and misshaped. 4. The tail looks stiff and... untail like. it really looks more like a "S" streak behind her. 5. The nose doesn't really look like a nose. Sure in manga and anime they have really simplified noses but... they still look like a nose... your nose really looks like a slightly curved line going down the middle :/ 6. The Hair itself looks kinda bad.... i really just recommend practicing by drawing other hair style you like. 7. The cat ears on top don't look so well either. They look like there just... sitting there... as in not connected to anything. study real cat ears or anime stylized ears ( most likely the ones that look the cutest or collest to you :P) 8. The line art is really wonky. The lines aren't smooth at all. Theres alot of bumps in the lines. Did you draw this pic with just the line tool O_o because thats the impression that im getting. If your drawing in mspaint then i recommend learning how to use the curve tool. It really helps ^^. 9. The coloring is just really horrible :/. Mostly cuz there isn't enough contrast between the highlights, shadow and base color of the character. Also where you decided to try to put the different shades. it just looks really flat :/ ive already pointed the hips and hands.... in general you need to improve your anatomy but that just comes with practice as well i hope that helps :/ http://www.howtodrawmanga.com/tutorial.html this is a nifty tutorial for beginnners.... dont follow any tutorial word for word and example for example... its best to just get ideas from it instead of following it all to the line. its also the first tutorial i used ^^ |

1. That makes no sense.
2. New pose so it guess it needs work. This much helped ^^ 3. But thats how I always draw her and people like it just like that =(. She has a lot of hair so it suppose to be wild and cover part of her head. It would look funky if I showed the sides of her head. 4. Well It suppose to be. It's like she's happy with a curve. Unless cat tails don't stiffing up? 5. Okay, I'll agree with you there but I don't like to mess with noses. Plus I rarely do straight pic so this was also new. 6. Okay, I'll stick with this. 7. Nope, I admit I did mess up here. If you look at my other Roxy pic her ears are a lot better. 8. I JUST began using the Pen Tool to line over my pencil lines. I do need more with that. I'm still experimenting with Brush or Pencil 9. THIS IS ONE THING I WILL NOT CHANGE! I just used Multiply at 10% so that may not be dark enough so thats my bad. |
