Pfft, you'd be surprised. There are all kinds of marketing companies who will pay you to be 25 different people online and hype their games for them. I think it's idiotic and underhanded- if you want to pimp your game in an internet forum, fuine, but at least be honest about it and identify yourself as such. Pretending to just be some regular joe and whoring out your game is just tacky, though.
