Re: Disaster Movie
Ugh, so bad...I could write a better, funnier script than any in the long list of "_____ Movie" movies they're pumping out these days. They were pretty funny with the first two or three Scary Movies. Nothing legendary or anything, but decent comedies that earned the chuckles they delivered.
But now the humor has decayed to such a level that nearly every line is just absurdist, groan inducing dribble. I mean, really? Parody movies that make humor based entirely off of pop-culture memes? Could they put ANY less effort into this mind-rotting garbage? |

Re: Disaster Movie
The best spoofs imo are the Naked Gun movies, this 'new' shit just sucks in comparison.

Re: Disaster Movie
Wrongfully Accused, now THERE is a funny parody film. It's up there with Airplane imo.
But I digress, this is sort of getting off topic....not that there's much to talk about anyway... |

Re: Disaster Movie
From what I've heard and from what I've seen, this movie includes parodies of Enchanted, The Chipmunks, Indiana Jones, The Incredible Hulk, Hellboy, Juno, You Don’t Mess With the Zohan, Sex and the City, Hancock, Dr. Phil, Hannah Montana, Iron Man, Kung-Fu Panda, Batman, High School Musical, Amy Winehouse, The Love Guru, Speed Racer, Never Back Down, Superbad and There Will Be Blood. Now, what do all those things have in common... what unifying thread... oh yeah. None of those are disaster movies. It kills me that these guys are taking concepts with such great potential and just excreting all over them. I mean, a well-made parody of the disaster movie genre would be great! There is a lot to draw from, isn't there? Armageddon, Twister, Dante's Peak, Deep Impact, Volcano, The Day After Tomorrow, just to name a few... movies like these are begging to be made fun of. But these guys, Friedberg and Seltzer... they haven't "seen" way too many movies, like the trailer suggests. No. They've made way too many movies.
I know, I know... this rant has no place in this forum, does it? I apologize. But it's so, so true. |
