Story Contest Results And Another BESC Announcement

Ok... Miss Chievous VERY kindly helped me with the placing of the stories... we agreed on the stories that placed but I'm somewhat disinclined to agree with 2nd/3rd...

Anyway, to put the people that entered out of their misery...

1. Manipulations by Laelia - what is there to say? Laelia is an old hand at this stuff... and he could probably write a good BE story in his sleep but regardless, his continuation of Arcanium was great. A very worthy first place.

2. Coeducational by Kris Overstreet - I was surprised that Kris entered but despite his protestations that this was a solid, if short, piece and very enjoyable.

3. Under by Dan Standing - He said he was aiming for old school BE epic... I think he got there... although his spelling and grammar was rather too good for that.

Anyway, commiserations to everyone else that entered but didn't win and again, thanks Chievous... Who, will also be helping to judge the BESC COMIC contest... which I shall formally announce tomorrow. So, start thinking about the ideas...

Kind of, except more in the "girl gets wishes" sense than the somewhat less fantastical (by comparison) Dr. Hooters and St. Cats.

I'm fairly sure that Laelia is a woman, at least according to some old posts on the BEArchive forums.

Sorry to disappoint Fake Name, Laelia is a guy - despite the misleading moniker and as usual, humble fool is quite correct.

As you'd expect, BESC contests are a means to generate more content for the club... hence, while they're open to everyone, only the members get to see the entries.

As far as I'm aware, TOB has yet to say if or when it's holding another contest.

Oh, whoops, I accidentally confused the two.

When are the stories going to be released? Also, what's illustrated by who? (I like some of the BESC artists more than others).

Actually, all entrants get 1.5 cents per word payment - it's just that these three get prizes in addition to the money.

At least, that's my understanding.

Just to repeat, is there a schedule as to when the stories will appear on the story club?

When it happens, I'll probably buy a membership for a month.
