Sequential Art as an Animated Series?

Okay, Language Delay does it again.

I got a really intriguing idea. What if someone pitched the idea to Adult Swim as an animated series? I mean for Christ's sake! They have horrible live-action shows now, and this has a better storyline than any of those!

Oh, and I dare you to not hear Brian Posehn's voice when you read Pip's lines...

Wouldn't that be up to Jolly's decision, if someone were to ask him to adapt his work into an animated series?

And I honestly can't imagine Posehn's voice as Pip, because, you know... The whole thing is set in England; if I'm not mistaken =/

No. It must not be done. It would prevent Jolly Jack from making the TF sequences. And then what would I spend my money on? Food? Rent?

Herr Onymous-Bosch has a point. There's a lot of licensing and rights being signed over when you make a deal like that. JollyJack would more than likely end up giving up quite a bit of freedom by doing so.

Brian Posehn's voice is too deep for pip.

I'd say Doc Hammer would be better (voice of Billy boy genius and Henchman #21 from venture Bros.)

or if you want him to sound more pathetic then Dana Snyder (voice of Master shake, Gazpacho, The Alchemist, and Todd)

But both of these guys are established nerd voices and I don't like to see actors playing the same role on numerous shows, if anything I think pip should be voiced by someone more unknown but still with that high pitched squeeky voice (preferably with a british accent).

Still this idea is probably never going to happen.

Adult Swim wouldn't pick it up. The humor's based on actual jokes instead of "PLEEEEEEEEASE be offended!"

I bet if Jolly learned the ways of flash animation, got at least 2 or 3 people (possibly close friends) to do voice-overs, and the time and money, he would probably do it himself. After all, who better than the man who knows his own work? But that would be false hope, wouldn't it?

Also, you'd have to consider who Jolly's fan base consists of. Not everyone who watches Adult Swim is a member of this site.

Not bashing Jolly Jack but his strip is really only short jokes with a few 4 or 5 comic long story arcs aside from the 1 long story arc he did a while back and the new one he is starting up shortly it's not exactly a great basis for a 30 minute show (course with Adult Swim they could do a 15 minute run time). To do a show the format of the jokes and how the adventures work would have to drasticly change like Garfeild, Dilbert, and Baby Blues had to do to become shows and aside from Garfeild none of them lasted a very long time. So Far Boondocks is the only comic I've seen make a truely sucssesful jump to animation (I know Garfeild had a long run and more merchendice than you can shake a stick at but then again Garfield gets put on everything and they'll keep marketing Garfeild until the end of time no matter how sick people get of him). The problem any comic faces in the transition of strip to show is the popularity of the quick 3 or 4 panel jokes ending in a punchline on the last panel, just doesn't work for a show unless you do it like Robot Chicken and then it's just like having some 25 or so comics read to you over the course of 30 min.

Before Sequential Art became a show I'd rather see lackadaisy made into a show or even sluggy freelance
