I was shown the way to this place by LitchArt also. It was so disappointing when litchart.com closed its doors. At that time, he was one of my favorite artists. :'(

He's labeled as "The Litch Zone" on the Be archive. I hate it because you can see all the new stuff labeled as MEMBERS ONLY. He sold out.

Re: Great Comic from litchart.

its a shame that people say "he sold out" when they dont have to pay for hosting and webnames and the time and effort to keep the site running,

I know cos ive ben there, remember "the cove" that was fun in the early days when bandwidth kept exceeding and i had to change the tariff twice,

when you dont have much money and you have to pay for these things every month it soon ads up (and the time taken for the maintinance), if you can save yourself the time and expence you soon change over

( N.B. I think the cove is still active as a cobweb site)

Geez...what is it with people?

http://membersarea.bearchive.com/gal...=100&from=free

There's where Litch has stored all of his work.

Re: Great Comic from litchart.

Yeah, Litch didn't "sell out". He had a bunch of art, didn't really have the time to stick it up on the net himself... didn't want to pay to keep his own site up. He gave it to the BEA so it would be somewhere.

He didn't even get a free membership. If he was "selling out", he really sucked at it.

As I recall, it was because he got a better job, and didn't want to have to worry about someone connecting him to his art, because it could negatively affect his career.

Re: Great Comic from litchart.

Sounds like you're thinking of CattyN - although, I suppose it's a valid concern for anyone with art on the net but if he was sufficiently concern, you'd think it would make more sense to just pull it entirely, rather than have it... even in a paysite.

Still, it has been some time since I talked to him... so, I won't pretend to recall the definitive version of events but I am certain that it was a case of - he didn't have the time or inclination to keep a website of his own up.

I suppose we'll have to wait for him to return to know for sure.
