You are correct sir. You'll have to excuse my lack of research, it was three in the morning when I posted and I was just checking forums before going to sleep.

I liked how he reviewed Conan just because they were advertising on The Escapist.

Also, I think it's funny that people actually wanted him to do Mario Kart Wii and he was all: "Fuck that!".

I'm not complaining, though. It is BE, and it does fit the topic. I was just curious if anyone thought there's a point when things just shouldn't be mentioned.

On a note related to the video, the blattent and annoying advertising is bothering me. I particularly hated the Warhammer Online ads when the advertising was longer than the review.
Ah, I see now: didn't suspect it'd be in that board. I asked myself the same thing, but thought to myself, "Ah well, BE's rare anyway. And it's not all about arousal, right? BE can be good for just an old-fashioned laugh."

I believe he hates JRPGs with a passion as well.

Re: Zero Punctuation (just for laughs)

Most people have a major hate-on from JRPGs this day because they've seen a serious lack in innovation, as compared to US made ones. Oh course, the only reason the US made RPGs have been experimenting is because everyone was buying JRPGS, so take that as you will :-)

I don't really see any humor in BE.

Re: Zero Punctuation (just for laughs)

The only review I've disagreed with so far would be Brawl, and not due to being to harsh, either. No, no, no, no. My problem was that he obviously liked it too much to properly tear it apart.

He seems to think people wouldn't catch on to intentional filler, off-topic ramblings, and critique of players rather than the game...and apparently he was right. However, he missed so many actual flaws in the game.

The online, the problems with the story, the HORRIBLE attempt by Sakurai to make, "The Subspace Emissary," a slightly altered, "The Great Cave Offensive MKII," the lack of significant amounts of new FIGHTING content (Songs and Stickers =/= variety in fights), the seriously large number of clones, the lack of DLC, and the other obviously-cut corners.

Re: Zero Punctuation (just for laughs)

What was the problem with the story? Lack of DLC is like saying "why doesn't my toaster shoot lasers too?"

Large number of clones? How many fighters have 35 characters anyway? Oh, DBZ ones do... and they have lots of filler moves and clones. Racing games also have lots of clones, all the cars look the same. What's that? what's under the hood is what matters? things like stats or the way certain moves work matters more than how they look? oh, no, you're full of it.

Why do we need new fighting content? hasn't the style of the game been the same since it came out on the n64?

All I'm hearing is "this game isn't exactly how I imagined it, so it sucks."

...Honestly, now.

EDIT: Oh, and I may as well adress your argument.

The story is almost fan-fic quality. I would prefer the characters just interacting and getting into skirmishes over personal crap instead of "DERP, EVIL!" Honestly, scenes like the Fox/Sheik/Peach tea party, Luigi's intro with Dedede, Lucario and Snake, Falcon and Olimar, and heck, even the drama with R.O.B. could all be handled without the generic EBIL ALIEN RACE plot. This isn't even taking into consideration that the opening scene of story mode was cut due to time constraints and Sonic was, quite literally, dumped in at the last minute.

The DLC problem comes from the lack of content. Most of this comes from the fact that there is a LOT of scrapped, half-finished pieces of data left in the game, including about half a dozen characters. Nintendo could EASILY make money and please fans by releasing DLC to patch up the content and make it work in the game, but they choose not to, because it's too much of a hassle.

The number of characters is SERIOUSLY low compared to the increase between 64 and Melee. Many new characters are reskinned tweaks of old ones (Lucario and Lucas, for example). Compared to series like Street Fighter, which has WELL in excess of 35 characters, the cloning in Brawl is ridiculous. Very few of the clones from the last game were fixed, and they easily could have been. These characters come from pre-existing franchises, and can easily be given movesets.

For example, Lucas doesn't have a SINGLE MOVE that is actually his outside of PK Love. There is no point in PK Fire when Ness already has that, try something different. Luigi is a great example of an uncloned character, and Wolf is boarderline because he actually plays differently.

Also, your argument makes no sense. You state that characters who look different but have the same moves are OK, but characters/cars that look the same but play differently are bad.

Also, with all of the new modes introduced in Melee, I find it sad that they couldn't think of much more than "Mix and match modes we already introduced!"

So yeah, I love Brawl too, so stop being so defensive. Even if it's your "favoritest game ever" it still has problems, and you need to acknowledge that. Oh, and just to clarify, (except for story) this is all stuff that the game lacks. This would be a good deal longer if I went into the actual present flaws.

Re: Zero Punctuation (just for laughs)

I'm sorry, is there another way to stuff the main characters of nearly every nintendo franchise without it being the shameless fan service it already so obviously is? And create some compelling reason to punch things?

Lucario Has ONE move that is even remotely similar to mewtwo. Lucas is a totally different style of character than ness. PK fire has a completely different blowback component, compared to the steady burn of ness's pk fire.

That's not what I said at all.

I don't need to acknowledge shit. You're full of it, so I'm done acknowledging you.
