Hmm. It's not a bad idea. And the pseudoscience explanation you came up with is eerily similar to what I would've come up with. I expect I can work it in.

As an aside, it occurs to me I haven't really ever written a full-on growth/GTS story. And what little I have written in the way of that nowhere near approaches the sizes you usually get 'em to, al. So this'll be a first for me--I do hope I won't disappoint.

Oh, yeah, has anyone in this thread read ZZZ's "The Trouble with Shadowlings"? For some reason this whole discussion reminds me of that story.

Careful, you're borderlining on Cartoon-clothes growth. I mean yeah Disney's Alice in Wonderland was my first fem growth experience, but I now prefer clothes destruction

I just thought of a bit of a twist on the underwear-grows-with-them idea. It's so crazy it just might work!

It should please those who have al's viewpoint as well as those like Volfsbayne and myself who prefer total clothes destruction... Time will tell.

I actually prefer the clothes growing with them, or at least the underwear and bra. I always thought that if the clothes get hit with whatever causes the growth why they don't grow (like rays and such), but yeah.

Yet another science problem with GTS/SW stories. One could say that the source of the sizechanging only affects living organics, but then the fingernails, hair, and top layer of skin shouldn't go with them, and they do. For my money the easiest way around it is a delayed reaction; they get hit by whatever it is, and it affects EVERYTHING it hits, but the effects don't sink in until sometime later. Say, when they've had time to go home and change clothes.

Still, I'll likely just ignore it when I write this.

That makes a whole lot of sense. Guess scientists will have a LONG way to go before perfecting growth and shrinking.

I love all the ideas on this, and if I could draw, I would seriously attempt.

I don't know about anyone else, but when I was hearing the idea of the chemical in the water-supply it made me think cheesy evil villain that couldn't get a girl to flash him a little TnA so he concocted an evil plot to make them do it...
For some reason when I tried to visualize someone like that...i remember this...

Barrager: That's nothing. I once saw a whole article (you can probably google it) detailing all the problems inherent in size-changing, the practical upshot of which is science CAN'T perfect it because it's impossible. Guess that means we'll have to hope magic comes through.

Trigger: Dick Dastardly? Seriously? I'd think he was too busy trying to catch Yankee Doodle Pigeon to be bothered with anything else...

Yeah. Then again, there were a lot of things that science said was impossible yet was proven possible. Ah well, magic sounds better anyway. I prefer the supernatural over the usual "theory and fact" shit.

I vote for eventual destruction of the woman(s) clothing, as in maybe the undies lasting a lil longer but not indestructible -- just try and prove to me that clothing-growth is real. Just try, lol. On another hand, I would give some credence to the notion of making XxxxxL clothing after she's already so big (i.e. 50ft), but she still has to outgrow all her normal sized clothing. Besides, where is the fun in slow growth if the women don't slowly outgrow their clothing?? LoL, I rest my case.

The scientific problem with women growing is that when you double the size, you quadruple the strength and you octuple the weight. It gets out of hand very quickly.

Then there's the matter of breathing. Your lungs are made to absorb oxygen molecules of a very specific size. A 50' woman would be literally incapable of respiration, no matter how much air she inhaled due to the oxygen being far too small to be of any use. The opposite is also true - a shrunken woman would also find herself unable to breathe because the oxygen would be too large to be absorbed properly.

Then you get into the whole "how does she eat/drink/whatever" questions and the whole thing just dissolves into impossibility.

That's why I prefer magic as well!
