Well, to me, it's not so much the 'bimboization' that gets old, it's the stock plotlines which get annoying.

Wow, hypnosis, huh? The guy just wants them for sex? The guy wants revenge? Freakin' amazing.

Some variety of rationales would be nice.

That's why I liked "Stranger than fiction" so muxh- everyone keeps their heads. It's not like the girls that were his friends before suddenly became bimboe sluts- the D&D nerd-girl is stilll a D&D nerd-girl, just with an amazonian build and a rack that won't quit.

I especially liked the way the main character reactied. To not instantly become some kind of porn king horn dog but to instead react with a much more human "wtf is going on here?!" really sold the piece to me.

Every good fiction writer knows (or *should*) that the only thing that ever keeps fantasy believeable- from Star Wars to Lord of the Rings- is the characters. We have no idea what a hyperdrive or a ringwraith is, but we know people, and we know how people act. We can buy that the millenium falcon can go faster than light because Han Solo smacks Luke Skywalker's hands away from the controls like any knowledgeable person would to a naieve tagalong poking around anything else expensive and dear to us.

Readers insinuate themselves into your characters, all of them, to some degree. They believe the situation and setting, no matter how outlandish, because the characters believe in it, even if it's just enough belief to disbelieve it, and so by believing in the character they believe in their beliefs. When they can't believe the characters, they can't believe in their beliefs, and thus the whole scenario crumbles.

Yeah, which is why the classic Trek succeeded. They never explained to you how transporters worked, how warp drive worked. Not like other sci-fi shows at the time which tried to science you to death.

It was just 'real' and treated as such.

As for these stories, the character should be shocked, amazed, there should be a progression towards the asshole controlling type if the main character is to become like that....

Compared to what's available... Your's has way more substance and plot. The past two comics lack any resemblance of story- other than the need for a group of images that are necessary to get the maximum amount of 'boiNG'.

My only real issue with your comic is that its slow with the problem/ action/resolution.

I really like Lore's, though last time I subscribed here was only one part up. It's a great way to get lots of variations on a theme.

So I understand that this relatively off-topic for the discussion, but this seems to be the most fitting thread to put it into so as to avoid senseless thread making.

I have been considering starting up a be story club account, but I was wondering about the paper billing(if any). The people i share my apartment with are rather nosy and go through my mail often. I'm not sure how the whole process works so if someone would be kind enough to explain it to me that'd be much appreciated... if not, feel free to name call or whatever.
