A sequel to Dead Space is still a matter of pure speculation. Yes, the title has "new francise" written all over it, but EA hasn't said anything official yet. Considering the economic situation and the fact that Dead Space didn't sell as well as expected, I'm thinking that they will put that one on the backburner until late 2010 or early 2011.

It's a pity really because it's a great game, which really held its own against some of the other big titles which came out in Q4 of 2008. Then again, its survival horror, and not for everyone. Games like Metal Gear Solid 4 or Grand Theft Auto 4 certainly appeal to a larger audience.

TES fans will bemoan that Oblivion was in itself a dumbing down of Morrowind... but it still offered you the 4 fairly substantial guild quests outside the main quest. Fallout 3 had the Wasteland Survivor guide (which I liked) and what... You Gotta Shoot 'Em In The Head? Which was really only a long quest because you had to go to fairly distant locations.

But, naturally - I understand that I've got different expectations to other people.

Anyway, looks like there's going to be a lil' bit more Fallout 3 with the downloadable content in March.
And one DLC let's you CHANGE THE ENDING to not die.

I imagine Dead Space 2 will be in active development - gaming is the fasting growing entertainment media and a couple of years from now, things will probably be picking up... either that or EA will just give us a raft of very slightly different sports games for the idiot proles to shore them up.

And yes, the Broken Steel expansion will rewrite the ending of the game to let you do some other mission with the Brotherhood.

Which will probably be very awesome.

Left 4 dead.... you must play Left 4 Dead....

That game is pure joy... As a tank when you send a survivor drifting off the side of the building with a well placed FIST to the face!

Got Fallout 3 but having trouble getting into it. It suffers from that same old tried and true rule: The more open the gameplay, the worse the plot gets.

Plus combat is kinda not fun IMO. Enemies are completely brainless and present no challenge. Get enough room to run in a circle and have something to hide behind and voila. You are now equipped to handle absolutely anything this game can throw at you. -_-

Re: Fallout 3 & Dead Space

As I said in my review - it's got all the problems of the Oblivion engine but they tossed VATS into the mix... As far as I'm concerned, Mass Effect is the way to go if you want to have firefights. Or Gears of War... you really absolutely CANNOT just run up to the enemy in those games without dying - maybe in Mass Effect with the right class... but TES has always had a problem with combat as far as I'm concerned.
