Excellent story; definitely worthy of process since there is so much actual growth. This last scene where she started saying the magic word over and over was really really good. Would love to see more from you.

Re: A Growing Flower (new slow growth story)

It's been a while, but here's chapter 5. Enjoy!

Chapter 5: Big Question, Big Answer

Hana spent the rest of her walk home with her friends with her fingers in her hands, worried about hearing the word "big" to describe the mini-giantess. It wasn't until she got home (and Ryo and Chisa warned her parents about not saying the word "big") that she finally opened up her ears again. Even then, though, there were calls of the word "big" echoing across town, causing the girl to grow each time she heard it.

"Wow, she's big!"

"She certainly has big hair, big feet...big everything."

"Look at that chest! Has to be the biggest girl I've seen in a while!"

Comments like these only worried Hana all the more, her height now pinned at about 14 feet or so in height. She had long surpassed the height of her own home; she had to sit on her legs just to see her bedroom from one side of the house now, her hands almost the size of her bedroom window.

"I guess I have to sleep out here like a dog", Hana sighed as she sat her head down on the grass of her backyard, the neighbor's dog next door barking away at the mini-giantess next door.

"Don't take it like that, Hana-chan! We'll stay with you! It'll be like a sleepover!" said Chisa as she patted her friend's left foot.

"I'll stay with you until this is over", assured Ryo.

"And tomorrow we're going back to the hot springs", noted Hana's father. "I'll call a truck for you to travel in."

He paused after saying that, thinking about how weird that sounded.

"Wow, that does sound weird, doesn't it?"

"I never thought our daughter would grow this tall", Hana's mother said, more shocked than worried about her daughter's size. "I guess I'll knit you a dress make out of various sheets until we get you more clothes."

"Thanks, Mom", said Hana as she gave her mother a large hug. She then hugged her father and friends soon after, giving the both of them kisses for staying with her overnight.

The next morning

Sleeping was harder than Hana thought. Her pillows were too small for her head, and she had to use both her new mattress and her parents' mattress just to not sit on the grass all night. She had to wear separate blankets for her each part of her body, and her dress (made up of several bed sheets) was a technicolor nightmare. She didn't grow any further than night, at least: that was good. The new morning brought about a new experience for Hana (or at least she hoped). It will also hopefully bring about the answer as to how she grew in the first place. At around 10 a.m. her father with the truck to hold her in, which he would personally drive. His wife, as well as Ryo and Chisa, would ride in the car.

"It's too bad this isn't a casual trip: I haven't been to a hot spring in a looooong time", frowned Chisa.

"I've never even been to one", admitted Ryo.

"Really!?!" Hana exclaimed. "Never?!"

"Nope. Never", he replied.

"I didn't know those kind of people existed in Japan", a somewhat sarcastic Chisa responded with.

One looooong car trip later

It took at least an hour for the five to get to the hot springs. Hana had to slowly get off the truck one foot at a time, watching it shake as she jumped off of it.

Next came the problem of entering the darn place. Hana had to crawl on her legs just to get her front half in the door, her parents and friends pushing her through the entrance and to the locker room.

"Um....hello. Can I help you?" the confused manager of the hot springs asked Hana's mother. She stood at about 5'2" or so, around 50 or so years old. She had short, black hair tied back behind her head, and she was wearing white robes.

"W-w-we're a group of five entering the hot spring. We also have a question about our daughter's..um..size."

The manager turned around to see Hana's embarrassed face, hiding her with her hands to prevent her from seeing her.

"She is quite big. What happened?"

"Well...we think it may have something to do with one of your springs. My daughter Hana mentioned something about a spring that makes you feel anew.."

"Ah, yes! That one! Well we had that water shipped over from a jungle somewhere in South America. Its water is said to be among the most pure and refreshing in the world."

"Well, we think our daughter wished to be taller and might have grown as a result", said Hana's father.

The manager nodded her head and came over to the giant girl, noticing her immense size in comparison to her. Despite that, though, she showed no fear. Instead, she tapped the girl on the head.

"I see. Well, luckily for you I'm familiar with this kind of incident", assured the manager to the worried family. "We have a special, ice-cold fountain that can restore your daughter's original size."

"Oh, thank you!" Hana's parents both cheered as they hugged the manager. Hana then hugged her with her giant hands as well.

"However!!"

"However?" gulped Hana. She didn't like the sound of that.

"It will take a week for the effects to fully rid of her size curse. Until then, Hana must avoid eating or drinking anything hot. If she does, she'll grow in size. And only by taking a cold shower or bath will her size be restored. She may also still grow from hearing certain words involving her size."

"I understand", Hana said to the manager. "I'll do whatever it takes to stop growing in size."

Hana shot up another few inches of height just then, shooting up to 14'6"!

"Quick! Into the cold water!" pressured the manager, pushing the mini-giantess Hana's butt with a broom.

"Okay! Okay!" Hana cried as she moved forward to her destination outside.

A lot of pushing later

There it was: the ice-cold fountain. And like Hana predicted, it was indeed cold: she barely put her left foot in before pulling it away. It certainly didn't help that she was almost naked aside from a towel wrapped around her body..

"Hana-chan, get in the water!" demanded Chisa, pushing her friend's butt.

"NO! It's too cold!" Hana whined, pushing back with much greater force than her friend.

"Oh, for Pete's sake...", the manager said as she started splashing Hana with buckets of the cold water from the fountain.

"Okay, okay! I'll get in!" said Hana as she dunked here body into the water, taking extremely slow baby steps as she put in one body part at a time. The more she placed her body in the water, the colder she felt: it felt like winter to her.

However, the water was kicking in. Hana's family watched in awe as their once mini-giantess daughter shrunk in size, her towel looking bigger and bigger on her until it covered up her entire body, falling on top of the water. It took almost 5 minutes for Hana's size to be restored, and when it did she ran out like a shot from the water, naked as the day she was born. (Chisa covered her friend Ryo's face with a towel to prevent him from seeing her, as did Hana's mother with her husband.)

"I'm puny again", sighed Hana, now back to her original 4'3" stature. "I hate being small.."

"At least you can fit into rooms again", noted Chisa as she handed her friend a dark blue t-shirt that was too big on her. She then gave her friend a big, warm hug.

"But best of all, I can hug you tight again!"

"Ch-Chisa!" an embarrassed Hana cried out, watching her parents and friends giggle in response.

"Now don't forget", reminded the manager. "No hot foods, and no mentioning of anything involving...size."

"I won't!" Hana assured the manager, who planned to keep hold her advice..eventually. She wanted to get a little bigger first before the week was up.

To be continued

Re: A Growing Flower (new slow growth story)

Chapter 6: Looking for the "perfect" height

Now sitting in the front of the tow truck inside of riding in it, Hana recalled once again the warning from the manager of the hot springs:

"It will take a week for the effects to fully rid of her size curse. Until then, Hana must avoid eating or drinking anything hot. If she does, she'll grow in size. And only by taking a cold shower or bath will her size be restored. She may also still grow from hearing certain words involving her size."

But what words were these? And if Hana grew from eating/drinking things that were hot, would eating ice cream or drinking cold water make her shrink? Hana was already small enough for her age: she didn't want to shrink down further than her already puny 4'3" in height.

"Hana, be careful!" said Hana's father. "I really don't want what happened before to happen again, and I bet you don't, either."

"I will, Dad", Hana responded. "But still, if I were just a little bit bigger.."

"NO!" he yelled again. "Don't think about it! Just stay as you are for one week and you'll be fine! Please, Hana!"

"Okay..", sighed Hana, looking at the road as her father zoomed by at a fairly fast speed. "But if YOU had the power to change your height simply by eating, would you?"

"That's quite a rthetorical question, o daughter of mine. You know what? Maybe I would."

Hana's father then patted his duaghter's head with his open left hand, using the other to control the wheel.

"Well, I suppose a little bit of growth wouldn't hurt..." he paused before saying.

"Thanks, Daddy", Hana replied, flashing a smile at her father.

"Let's get something at Kentucky Fried Chicken, something hot and spicy", said Hana's father as he pulled over at a local KFC just then. Hana's mother, who was driving behind her husband, realized what was going on.

"He didn't! He couldn't! He wouldn't!" she yelled as she honked her car in front of her husband.

"What's up, Mrs. Daiyuki?" wondered Chisa.

"It's my husband! He's going to pull over to buy Hana something hot to eat, no doubt!"

"B-B-But...she's so huggable.."

"We have to stop them! Chisa, Ryo, let's go!"

Inside KFC

As Hana's mother detected, she saw both her husband and her daughter each walking away with a bucket of the warmest and spiciest chicken wings they had at the restaurant.

"Ichiro Daiyuki! What the hell is wrong with you?!" yelled Hana's mother as she slapped him in the face and took the buckets from both her husband and daughter at once.

"I-I-I can explain, Minami!" whimpered Ichiro. "You see, Hana wanted to grow a little bit, so we thought.."

"So you were going to ignore the manager's words, right?" the grumpy mother asked. "God I can't believe you two would do such a thing.."

"M-M-Mommy.." Hana tried to squeeze in.

"Stop it, Hana!" said Minami. "You're as guilty as he is! You really wanted to go back to being a gigantic freak that much?!"

"W-W-Well, no..but.."

"Fine! You want to eat this chicken and go back to being an Amazon? HERE you go, Hana!"

Minami then stuck one of the wings right into Hana's mouth, watching her spit it out really quickly as it was still extremely warm.

"Ow! My tongue!" whimpered Hana as she ran to the bathroom to rinse her mouth out with some water from the sink.

It was in the bathroom that Hana noticed something: she was taller than earlier. Her shoes felt much smaller on her feet, and her shirt and skirt were tighter as well. She was at about 4'8" or so now, 5 inches taller than before.

"Yes! It's working again!" a cheerful Hana said to herself in the bathroom mirror. "Thanks, Mom!"

A much happier Hana ran out of the bathroom to spread the good news. By the time she did, though, she noticed the two buckets were gone..

"Where did all the food go?" wondered Hana, her father pointing at her friends.

"We kinda ate it all", a sheepish Chisa replied.

"Your mother made us", explained Ryo, who looked both full and disgusted.

"That was our dinner!" Ichiro whined, he himself not getting the chance to eat a single one of the wings.

"Oh suck it up! We can have dinner at home!" Minami informed her husband, the five of them all leaving KFC.

That night, at (proper) dinner

Not eating hot foods was harder for Hana to adjust to than she thought it would. She liked peppers, pizza, french fries, and a lot of other hot foods, but now she was deprived of all of them. So what was she eating instead? Cereal, as she refused to eat carrots and most other cold vegetables.

"At least I can still eat Rice Krispies", Hana said to herself as she poured herself a bowl and started eating some, watching with a glare her father eating the warm food put out before him. She stared long and hard at the food before he changed direction and ate standing up, away from his daughter.

"Oh, who am I kidding?! This sucks", Hana said aloud, finishing up her cereal and putting the bowl in the sink. "I'm going to bed."

"But it's only 7:23 p.m.", said Minami.

"Then I'm going to study until I fall asleep then, I suppose."

"Okay then. Good night!" said both of Hana's parents in unison.

She never did study, though; Hana just simply fell asleep, thinking of all the warm foods she loved eating. That's when she decided something; if she couldn't obtain warm foods in front of her parents, she would use her friends to sneak her in some! Hana quickly called Chisa to see if she would follow along.

"No can do, Hana-chan! Your mother already paid Ryo-kun and I 2,000 yen to prevent you from eating any warm foods for the next week, and we're sticking to it!"

"But Chiiiiisa, I'm hungry!"

"There are plenty of foods that taste good without being warm, Hana-chan! Why don't you try some?"

Chisa then hung up on her friend, who sighed as she turned off her cell phone and placed it on the ground next to her bed. Hana curled up her body, placed blankets over her head, and began to go to sleep..

..well, almost. Then she remembered something: hot water from the sink! That counts as a warm liquid, right?

The not-so-sneaky Hana then crept out of her bedroom and to the bathroom, where she poured herself a large glass of warm water. She drank it down, commenting to herself how nasty it tasted, but it proved effective: Hana grew nearly another foot just then. She was now a fairly tall 5'7", which she figured was good enough now for her to be comfortable with. Now content by her new size, Hana went to bed and began to finally fall asleep, excited by now having what she considered the "perfect" height. She was unaware of her weird the rest of her week was going to get.

Countdown to height restoration: 6 days, 14 hours

Wow, those warm foods are potent! Just a glass of water and a taste of chicken and she's 16 inches taller!

Re: A Growing Flower (new slow growth story)

Hooray new chapter! \o/

The KFC growth was really good. I was hoping for a bit more in terms of description of the growth and the family/Minami's reaction to solidfy it, but it was still good.
The second part really made me appreciate being able to have warm foods. The hot water in the bathroom was a great idea.

Bravo!
