"The Great Emulation" BeStoryClub Comic- author seeking feedback

The third and final part of my latest comic is now up over at the bestoryclub and I was wondering if anyone had read it and would care to comment. As I'd like to write another one for either the BESC or Lorekeep's upcoming Giantessclub I'm particularly interested to know: were there any parts that didn't make sense, were there any issues with how it read as a comic in general, and how does the storytelling compare with the BESC library or comics in general. As always I tried to come up with something a bit different, and I think this achieved that. There are several types of process covered, but I understand someone will always feel left out. The art came out good- there's always minor quibbles- but they really captured the spirit of what I was going for. Three chapters is about the equivalent of a month's membership over there, so did you feel you got your money's worth? If another story by Clovis appeared on the new releases list would you be excited or annoyed?

Thanks for your time-
Clovis

Oh, and while I'm sending you over to the site, I strongly recommend checking out "A Pirate's Life" by SaburoX- it's not yet finished, but I have to say it's my favorite so far.

I'd love to provide you with some feedback Clovis, given that in the past you have written some great stories. Unfortunately I'm not a subscribed member to the BESC and haven't got the necessary funds budgeted to sign up right now. Be assured that I'll make it a point to check out your comic when I am able to set aside some cash.

The story was very good, but I think you stopped too early. I think you should have made the princess much, MUCH bigger. I also wouldn?t have given that story necessary a happy end.

Given what a seemingly disproportionate amount of expansion/inflation stories use it as punishment/torture, I'll say there's nothing wrong with the happy ending whatsoever.

Damnit.... Now I'm going to have to drop $29.99 for one story.

I felt the Giantess part was a bit tacked on.

I understand what you mean, but it seemed logical though. After growing longer (hair) and wider all around, it was logical that she start growing upward. Of course, I'm a miniGTS fan so I'm a bit biased...

I'd have to admit that this is actually my favorite comic to come out of the BESC (my favorite story is still Mutation I and II). I thought the story was clever, well paced, and wrapped up with a few clever twists. Really good work.

The Great Emulation was a nice story full of humor and amusing situations. I personally enjoy the GTS bit. I only feel sad that it was so short.

Excellent job with the story and keep up the good work.

SinisterTwin: Well, I'd love to hear what you think if you do eventually get a subscription. I have another comic there called "Till She Gets Her Way." Glad to hear you enjoyed my other work.

wolfman-al: When you say the Princess should have gotten bigger, in what way did you mean (or did you mean in all ways?) While I don't disagree with you, I will point out that my two comics go quite a bit further (larger) than the rest of the archive.
As for the happy ending, I like it. All my stories have ended with a sort of return to normal with lessons learned. Not saying they all will, but seems to be my preference. As SoylentOrange pointed out, there seems to be no shortage of darker stories.

inflation_juggalo/Process Fan: Glad you liked it, thanks for commenting.

Blake Isaac Gordon: I do feel bad for putting stuff on a paid site, but I really do enjoy making the comics and I feel there's more of a reward as an author in that I get all this great artwork. With all these sites, I think if you haven't been on in a year or so it's definitely worth a one month's subscription. If you do join I'd love to know what you think, and also please check out my other story "Till She Gets Her Way," I think you'll like it. Actually, I'd recommend waiting a bit on joining- I'm not sure how many parts it's going to have, but "A Pirate's Life," by SaburoX is my favorite thing so far, and may be worth waiting for if you're only joining for a brief time.

Metatron: You're comment surprised me. Of all the growth processes in the story, her height increase spans the most time (two out of three issues.) If anything I worried that this story was too much about giantess growth and not BE.

robclassact: Your favorite? Wow, thanks. And thanks for reminding me about your excellent site, I hadn't been on there in a while.

Max AP: I try in comics to keep the storytelling as tight as possible. Certainly there are things I would have liked to have shown more of, but with the ten-page per issue restriction, getting everything to fit and to flow is a challenge. I'm also not sure what length the club is looking for. The original contest was only for 20 pages. Here I went with 30, but there are some that are longer (though too drawn out in some cases.) I'd love to try a long comic, but I think there's such a backlog of material there, it may be best to keep it brief. But certainly saying it's too short is probably the best compliment, assuming it left you wanting more.

Thanks for reading-
Clovis

Re: "The Great Emulation" BeStoryClub Comic- author seeking feedback

You are one of my favorite BE authors and I have enjoyed both of your stories for the BESC. The Great Emulation had a wonderful premise; however, I honestly wish there was more BE. I don't mind GTS, but it seemed that the story ended up focusing more on that than BE.

Honestly, I think it would be awesome if you wrote some more stories rather than comics (did The Great Emulation and Till She Gets Her Way start as stories?). I still go back and re-read Cup Above The Rest and Playing With a Full Deck on a regular basis. I love the competition in both stories, and the way you describe the BE makes it very easy to imagine exactly what's going on.

Regardless of the format, I really hope you keep writing!
