My first attempt with After Effects

Many of you know me from back in the late 90's when I had a little spot over on the BEArchive. I still do the occasional animation from still images that can be seen at various sites around the interweb, but mostly I just lay low these days.

After seeing regalia12's work here, I decided I had to try my hand morphing a video sequence. I downloaded a trial copy of Adobe After Effects 7.0 and this is what I came up with after playing with it for about an hour.

I definitely have a lot to learn. AAE is a crazy complicated program, but I think from this point I'll check out some tutorials to see what I can find. I may not put a lot of effort in to it, though. The program costs $1,000 and I just don't have the desire to put anywhere close to that kind of money into a pr0n hobby.

Critiques welcome.
Max.

That looks very nice indeed. I'm a sucker for the 'pulsing' sort of growth myself.

This would be 90% more enjoyable if it played more than once.

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out how to make After Effects do that. I'll repost when I get it working.

Re: My first attempt with After Effects

OK, I imported it into Animation Shop to make a few minor changes. I'll learn how to do these things in After Effects later.

Here it is at 200% size, 50% speed and continuous looping. Unfortunately, it drastically increased the file's size. Sorry to anyone trying to DL this on a dial up connection (I know there are still a few of you out there.)

My 2nd go at After Effects

OK, I've been doing some reading and learning. MAN is this program powerful!

Anyway, I decided to try this one in .WMV format. If anyone has trouble with it, let me know and I'll try something else.

This file makes use of 2 separate breast layers, a shadow layer (for under the growing breasts) and a background layer.

If I did it right, you won't even notice the shadows. And for the record, I know it's painfully short. The object is to learn... then apply the new skills to something more worthy of the effort.

Again, critiques welcome. I appreciate info that helps me improve.

It looks good! I like your signature motion you applied in the footage as you often do in your earlier works. That's basically the idea and it's more time consuming than difficult. Well done.

Not bad at all. When you start doing more extreme morphs at longer durations, you will notice that you might have to be innovative with layers and you'll be able to pull off some neat stuff. Also, just a heads up becuase I had to learn the hard way- Make sure your source footage runs at 1 frame-1 movement, (each frame is sequential and not a duplicate of the previous frame) otherwise your morph will animated between keyframes on the duplicate frames and that looks funky~ good luck!

First of all, many thanks! Certainly high praises coming from someone with your skill. I'm not quite sure what you mean by "signature motion" though. If I did anything like that, it was unintentional. I just know what I like to see and I kept messing with it until I saw it.

Thanks again. I wouldn't have thought of that on my own. So, how difficult is it to make sure that the source video is 1 frame / 1 movement?

Also, I got your PM reply. Thanks, yet again. It's always nice to be remembered. You missed a question, though. Would you consider recording the next animation you make using a free software like CamStudio so I can pick up on some of the little tricks you've already learned? You could type forever trying to do a brain dump, but I pick things up easier when I see them. I really wouldn't take much more time on your part. Just install the free software, hit record when you start your project and then stop recording when you're done. It'd be a huge help to me.

The process gets a little clearer with each new project.
