Anyone try "BRINK" yet?
I know for a fact that I'm buying it, the worst I've read so far in critics is that the campaign and graphics tend to vary depending your beliefs and computer. Yet multiplayer seems to be a new and intuitive introduction to the FPS genre that I'd gladly like to play in break from TF2 and MNC. Plus I always wanted true customization and not just a choice of a color to my hat or to wear a piece of clothing at the expense of 90% of my health.
But that's just me from what I've SEEN and READ, has anyone actually PLAYED it? And if you don't know what BRINK is... |

Well, now you do. And to summarize all that I've heard and gathered from reviews, gameplay videos, and critics... BRINK is set in the future, where sea levels rise and anyone living by a coast goes on a make-or-break sea adventure to find a supposed floating city made for such a mishap. A lucky group make it and are welcomed onto the city (Known as the ARK) with open arms. However, due to dwindling resources (A city made for 5,000 housing 50,000) and loss of contact with the outside world, conditions turn to the worst as water is put to ration and a revolution begins. Enforcement, once a small policeforce, now work as a army to fight back the Resistance. The game itself combines factors from several games. Gameplay is a mixture of basic FPS features with a slight class based system in-game to allow for small variances to character. These classes are not weapon restricted as far as I know. What makes the game spot-light worthy is the integration of parkour into the mix. Like Mirror's Edge, players can run around obstacles and jump around like they would in real life (Assuming your semi-athletic) but at the same time reduces it all to aim and a single button allowing for smoother movement in a fast-paced dangerous environment. Customization is also something of note, a player being able to take several basic human bodies and customize them from the skin and up. Clothing, pants, accessories, tattoos, even slight aesthetics to guns. This not including actual customs that can be added to weapons and changes to classes. So far the two major developers I've heard on this were Bethesda and Splash Damage. Well, dunno about that. But if you wanted to just see it, http://www.youtube.com/user/BethesdaSoftworks Last edited by Icanseestuffandstuff; 05-13-2011 at 03:51 PM. |

I've actually been watching someone stream multiplayer of it and it seems fun if you can play if with your friends. The fighting looks very simple to do and there are actually objectives for multiplayer maps with is something every game needs but never has. If I had a good desktop I'd definitely get it but alas broke college students.

Say what you want, I keep seeing way to variant opinions changing between "Ugh this was horrible for what they advertised." to "Wow! This is exactly what I wanted and MORE!" I think there's something going on here, but either way might as well try it. I just wanted to see if anyone I KNEW had played it. |

I was in Gamestop earlier and I heard that people are already trading it back in... like that single location already got several back

Re: Anyone try "BRINK" yet?
If it helps...everything is customizable and the PC seems to be the console to use for it.

Re: Anyone try "BRINK" yet?
Single player is never nice with team-based games, I mean TF2 just got bots up and working and even the 'hard' ones make mistakes that can equal destruction of a entire defense.
But anywho, I'm still getting it. I personally LIKE team games, so that's one major reason. Secondly, I like the idea of not running into something I meant to jump over... while shooting things... while in a running jacket... and stuff. All in all I'm not satisfied until I play it myself and watch the community for a period. I still recall some people who said MNC would be dead by now. |
