I'd say to be careful on some of the more oddball fetishes. Multiboob is one thing, but udders are another. Perhaps have them as optional side effects of whatever milk output enhancement drug?

I take it that the "farmer" you control is not a cowgirl? Would there be an option either willing or not to become a cowgirl yourself, and rather raising an alternate cowgirl, your character is the one that you deal with?

I didn't mean different species of cows, I meant in the sense of different varieties of cowgirl.

-Two boobs, only cow ears and tail
-Two boobs and udder, ears, tail, and hooves
-four boobs and udder, ears, tail, hooves, and muzzle
-etc.

Each with their own ups and downs relating to the various jobs on the farm.

See above- multiboobs or not, udder or not, these should all be attributes you can cultivate depending on the needs of the farm at a given time.

And in regards to Buck39's post, I'd stay as far away from self-inserts and "use my character!" as you possibly can, because that's what ruined NukuV's game, too many half-implemented "Use my character!" encounters without ever thoroughly finishing the ones he started with...

I don't want it to get to the point where I'm playing HYPER LEGENDARY OVERFORCE NIGHTMARE HELL mode if I prefer my cowgirls with more girl to them than cow.

This goes double for cowgirl competitions, too. There should be separate divisions of anthro-ism, like weight classes in wrestling.

Thanks to your ideas I've got quite a few concepts floating around in my mind.
Tackling the cow girl anthro bit I'm liking the idea of a scale between being completely human, and a max anthro amount. How cow like the max anthro will be is debatable still. But what I can see is the role filling that the scale can provide as going further one way down the scale can unlock stat limitations and abilities, while at the same time restricting others. The one I have in mind now is if we have a administrator cow girl, the more human like she is the higher her max intelligence can be making her more effective. For a farm hand, the more cow like she is the stronger she can be increasing her constitution stat abilities to help do generic farm work.
Once I get around to writing down the specific roles we should use, we can tune this system better.

One concept I thought of is including crop growing as a part of the farm that cow girls can be used to attend to. Successfully growing crops can net income, or special crops can be grown and used for your farm such as special feed or aphrodisiacs or something.

The last big thing I wanted to cover was the ideas behind the player's protagonist. As much as I love customization and role playing I want the focus to be on the girls and your potential interactions with them. If we use a minimally customizable male character, the writing involved could be sliced down for not having to deal with female or futa protagonist interaction cases. Not to mention it would be hard for a woman to personally impregnate a cow in any usual sense.

I feel that character progress would be best measured by the quality of the cows raised, and the state of the farm. Maybe we can revisit player sex once the project gets off the ground.

This is pretty much exactly what I was talking about, yeah. The more and larger milk-producing bits a cowgirl has, it starts limiting her ability to do other tasks. And like, maybe it would be good to have a few generalists around, like one that was just smart enough to be a little helpful with administration yet just strong enough to help with repair work all while being able to give off a little bit of milk each day.

It would help if every day wasn't exactly the same- like, if you had it go by work-week, on sunday the reception area is closed, so you wouldn't need any "Administrative" cows and it would be smart to have a few of your admin cows take those days to add to the milk pool or something. Of course, you'd still need one or two super-smart administrator cows to run things when they're really needed, like tax day, so it will still be worth it to have a few "useless" cows on the days when they're not needed so you can handle the big events that will require maxed-out smarts when they are needed.

So an "Ideal" farm would have a few cows okay at everything, a few more each leaning towards one specialty or another, and then a couple who are only good at their specialty, and balancing the feeding, training, and other activities would be the main part of the game, making your farm grow and become bigger and better as you nurture your harem of cowgirls into a sexy, wel-oiled machine of milking. ^_^

Ah, but now you run into the problem of aethetics vs. stats. What if someone wants a cowgirl with the whole furry package and she does nothing but administrative tasks while lying on her two pairs of beach-ball sized tits?
