Female Pandaren monk

Pandas, you say?

Here are some roughs of Li Huo, Pandaren martial arts girl, focusing her chi and switching into a stance skewed a little towards defense... via distracting the opponent?! What is she putting in those brews of hers?

A name. What does "John Smith" or "Walter Stevens" mean? Name's don't mean anything. You can look up the meaning of a name but when you call someone by their name it's just their name it's not the meaning.

You're wrong. Western names can have meaning, but they're often disregarded or disambiguated because of the vast quanity and combinations of the roman alphabet. Eastern names can have meaning and more often then not, they are taken into account because of the more limited syntax of the language and the vast populations thereof. Eastern names make personalities easier to identify that way.

Nope. A name is a name, you're given a name when you're born. It's not based on your personality because you don't have one yet. Nicknames are based on personality or even physical traits and THEY have a meaning, they matter in some way. But every John is just a John, they aren't called that because of their personality. Most names are chosen for a person long before they are even born, so they have absolutely nothing to do with the person they've given to and everything to do with the person who gave it.

Re: Female Pandaren monk

well, not that I wish to be in this, but in many cultures the parents name there kids after months of birth, dates, things that happen during birth, and so many other factors. Names all around the world have meaning, in western cultures many last names came about due to your families job, but now that is not so much the case. Even in some cultures a child is not named till after there birth. in short, all names have some meaning, might not be to the person with the name, but it has meaning none the less. also, I love the sketch, and as I told you in the stream, it looks nice, can't wait to see it done =^__^=, the pose is really nice, I love to see a big girl that is flexible hahah

All inked up:

Might go back and add some fine details and color at some point. Any interest in an Ogra/Li Huo pairing piece?

Re: Female Pandaren monk

looks good man, I like the fixed pose at the end. only thing that stands out to me a bit in the process is that her belly seems to expand over the belt, but as she gets bigger, and in the end, it is all under the belt. all and all you are doing a fine job, keep it up =^__^=

Re: Female Pandaren monk

Good point! I should fix that, not sure why I overlooked it. I guess I was too focused on trying to get the clothing to look right and scale properly.
