Dammit, Spidey

We were so close to potentially getting some great new Lizard TFs...

Curse you, Spidey for doing your job!

Lol, haven't you ever learned to not get greedy with Hollywood? You always become really disappointed afterwards.

But yeah we did get close, ah well, at least the actual comic version had storm from xmen go predative... Albeit ugly...

Just a question. This is a guess. With no caps, no script, no-nothing. And it was I the one who raised his expectatives too high.
I must say that being this a movie for the masses, it is also difficult to see a woman-to-lizard tf, no matter a spiderman movie or a Little House on the Prairie episode (a 1973-1983 series).

Re: Dammit, Spidey

Just saw the movie today. And my biggest fears came to pass. THE LIZARD was a huge disappointment for me. Yes... I was happy that he finally got into a movie - but the way he was handled as well as his design was depressing to me. THE LIZARD has always been one of my all time favorite comic book villains. I was excited to see what Raimi would do with him. And was not happy he never got a chance to realize him on screen.

I saw early Raimi art and pre-viz on the LIZARD before he was taken off the 4th movie. And it looked GREAT!! I thought Webb did a good job with the first 1/2 of the new movie. But the second 1/2 felt like a jumbled mess. Scenes were obviously cut (what happened with THE LIZARD licking the two teenage girls from the comic-con footage?). Oh well...

I paid for a full-price ticket, and it actually kinda pissed me off. I gave the movie a fair chance, but it really felt half-done, especially when it came to The Lizard. That's not to say that he was terrible; far from it, the story and dialogue were largely coherent. However, if you paid attention to the development of the film, you could tell where bits were missing. At least the script was delivered well by a largely competent cast - dare I say, best Stan Lee ever - but it still felt like something was missing.

Re: Dammit, Spidey

I briefly considered writing an AU ending where Gwen is turned into She-Lizard. Due to some plot excuse, she gains the ability to shift in and out of lizard form at will. And, well, we all know what would happen in lizard form with Pete around.

Wink.

It's evident that they cut out a number of important plotlines - Peter's parents, his hunt for Uncle Ben's killer, the evil Indian Oscorp exec, and perhaps some more. According to some reports, the movie underwent a last-minute re-editing after a screening for studio executives. The film's marketing people were still using clips and shots from these cut plotlines in May, so these plotlines must have been cut at very short notice.

So the super special extended edition BluRay will probably have hours of extra footage.
