Very much this. A lot of fans of certain "genres" such as bimbofication don't find bimbos themselves interesting or attractive; rather the transformation of into something wholly cliched or contrary to what the original personality most embodied. An outgoing, popular girl made into a shy, bookish introvert or vice versa is just as appealing to me as bimbofication or other more established personality alterationss.
