Sorry but for 6000$ I would get an tf comic book or short tf film from Jitensha, and that would look way better. No offense though.

Why would it be worth 6000 bucks? Killx has a good point.

Personally I'd reckon that would be better spent on tf-movie(s) at taylormadeclips.

$6000 is absurd.

Re: Blurring Lines, an animated series full of transformation

Depending on how long the series will be, 6000 dollars is pretty cheap...

Animation is a lot of work and an animated series of any kind could easily take up as much time as a day job. And especially if voice actors are involved, the costs can go up pretty dramatically. Also, keep in mind that if you pledge to a Kickstarter project that fails to meet its goal, you won't actually pay anything. You only pay for projects that get enough pledges to meet their goal.

That being said I think that 6000 dollars is rather optimistic (unrealistic) for a community as small as ours. The goal itself is realistic, but expecting to reach it in this community is not.

Its understandable that such projects would cost a ton, but for this... shouldn't time be spent more on, well, bettering the artistic design? The drawings seem pretty amateur and not very appealing. Sorry to say but this doesn't look like its worth the high cost.

$6000 for an animated project is not absurd. $6000 for what they are peddling (based on that "trailer" and its art) is absurd, both in that they expect to make anything significant with only $6000, and that they expect any group to pony up $6000 for something of that quality.

Well... the FAQ does say the art on the teaser video should not be taken as how it will look...

... but still, yeah, dunno, the idea sounds fun and I understand the creator's feelings when it says it is a project that it has been working for almost its whole life, that the show means a lot to him/her, even I find myself in that same position now.

But I feel there is much more 'behind the scenes' work that needs to be done before starting a donation campaign like that. The teaser art for example, ok maybe it will not look like that, granted, but some work on making that preview art look with a level of quality to attract people's attention should had been done before starting; just as an example.

Re: Blurring Lines, an animated series full of transformation

6000 is not enough for an animated series, even a short would be difficult. Basic starting pay for a visual development artist alone is anywhere from 15-40 bucks depending upon the skill level. Animators will ask more. 6000 will not get you much. Trust me, this is my business. I know my industry.

Interesting idea about getting behind some artists, but I don't know if I like the style.
