Re: SheWolf crowd funded project
or money to devote to extravagant special FX, given that most people don't tune into such things for those reasons. This is a niche fetish, so we can't rely on the mainstream or sites like TMC to neccearily cater to us. If we can agree on an idea/story and come up with a rough budget, I'll be more than happy to kick it around to my FX friends and try to find some interested parties.

Re: SheWolf crowd funded project
Well, why not throw the basic idea out there and see what they say if you can? American Werewolf in London With A Woman. Basically, replicate that scene with a hot woman in David's place. I'd toss in for that. And I think that scene includes pretty much everything any other transformation clip could ever want. If your FX friends could give us a rough estimate on recreating the props used in American Werewolf, that would at least give us a starting off point for prices, otherwise we'd just be tossing out laughable numbers that nobody would probably take too serious, and I wouldn't want to insult them.
On a side note, I'm talking to a CG artist right now about the possibility of producing a Werewolf clip. It's Miro of Affect3D and he seems to like the idea, though it will be of a porn nature, since that's what he is into. I'm hoping he likes the general idea enough to be able to talk about prices and time lines, and if he's on board, I'll see what I can do to get the ball rolling here with ideas and what people want to see and such. Wish for luck!

The words 'Affect3D' and 'Werewolf' in the same sentence makes my tummy feel strange.
And not in a bad way. |

Re: SheWolf crowd funded project
I sent out some messages to a few of my FX friends asking what it would take to pull off such a transformation sequence today. I stressed the fact that this isn't for a short or feature, but basically an FX showcase. We're essentially trying to make a female recreation of AWIL. I think that any FX artist who is a fan of Rick Baker and co. would jump at the chance to create such an homage. I'll post my friends' responses here when I receive them.
Going by my own knowledge of SFX and prosthetics work, I know some details of the transformation would be hard to pull off, such as the tail growth. What I'm thinking is that there could be some implied tail growth which leads to the reveal of a tail nub like in GINGER SNAPS. With some decent cutaways, you can show the tail growth in multiple stages. The performance of the actress will help sell this. I know animatronics can be tricky and cost prohibited, so that might lead to compromises having to be made in terms of visible muzzle growth. I'm thinking it would be much more reasonable to design it much like the Tales From The Darkside episode "Family Reunion". That episode showed a female werewolf with a muzzle created by several cuts. I know others have mentioned this in the thread already, but I agree to the idea of coming up with some sort of script/scenario for the video. I had an idea to have it be set in a research facility and the female is a test subject. This would allow for the FX to be clearly on display. If we have the transformation occur in the interest of science, that makes a plausible excuse why most of the video is focused on the transformation. It would allow the video to exist beyond just a fetish video. Any thoughts? |

This makes me think of what xheihachi and Sabrina, his model, were working on. Sounds like Sabrina is currently pregnant and who knows if they will get back to finishing the project...

Re: SheWolf crowd funded project
Well why not just keep it simple and just have her transform the same way as David did in American Werewolf? I think honestly nobody gets into Werewolf movies for the story, but for the effects! I don't know, but I could care less what the story is, the idea is to show the transformation scene and not much else. If they nail our wildest dreams, then who knows where it could lead from there. That's how I see it anyway, but I'm easy to please sometimes. ^_^

Apparently my earlier post was a but too subtle. I didn't want to let the cat of the bag, but that's what I've been working on. That's why I haven't posted anything new to my DA page for a while. I already finalized the script, and the lead female voice track is already recorded, and it is awesome! Working on storyboard now. The clip will be about 5 minutes long in total (with narrative, credits, etc). I estimate a year to finish it. I won't accept any money right now as this is a personal project and I have enough bosses already. If i need help in the future I may come begging for donations but this is a personal project, so I can't guarantee anything. I may share more stuff as it's developed, or drop a trailer. K |

A year from now or a year from when you started? Even just a month makes a lot of difference.

Re: SheWolf crowd funded project
Krusty~ well well well you sneaky bugger! Well congrats on using those amazing talents to do something you love. But still, you could take donations to your cause, if for nothing more than people being willing to send you some money. Not everybody that gives you money is some demanding prick hell bent on making your life a living hell ya know? Donations are just there to help you as the artist, not place demands on you from the community. But hey, a year from now you'll have a bit of artistry to share with us all that will bring a lot of happiness to others, and that is something to be proud of. ^_^

Re: SheWolf crowd funded project
I highly recommend you go dark on this subject until you know exactly when it's going to be done; even this small statement of intent (not a release date at all) means once people think your allotted time has passed, they'll start nagging you and bad-mouthing you all over the place.
Just work on it, as long as you need to, and try to avoid giving out a lot of detail. Just focus on doing it for you. |
