Re: I feel very stupid

Drybones, it if makes you feel any better I can top this in pure stupid:

I went to work last Sunday, and as I got there I took my keys out of the ignition of my truck. I then proceed to lay them on the seat as I swap my normal shoes for my work shoes. Then I get out of my truck and go inside. As I get to my locker and go to unlock it...no keys in my pocket. Locked them inside, on the seat in plain sight. Best part is: My truck is all manual. Manual locks, manual windows. This means to unlock it form the outside without the keys is a total bitch.

It gets better: I didn't have a spare key. When I bought the car they only gave me the one.

Luckily my friends family was able to help me open it up....and I got two spares the next day.

Re: I feel very stupid

i know your pain but mine is so easy to get into i couldn't leave it for a second, had no money had almost no gas, left wallet and keys in plain site and have arthritis so can barely drive my car some days and hey my cell was at home(cant remember phone numbers to save my life) and even the cops don't come when there's gunfire they can't legally unlock your door anymore, i have the one key the second thanks to how paranoid people are have to be chipped and a dealership part and I think we all know how much that can cost so really this did happen and I know its not stupid now but could have been better timing

Re: I feel very stupid

As far as car-related issues go, try topping this one:

I had a flat, so my friend and I tossed on my spare. The tire iron that came with my truck didn't fit the lugnuts, since the previous owner had installed NEW ones for their after market rims. So after trying three different tire irons, a customer happens to notice us and offers to help with his brake bar (the odds of someone having one of those nowadays is slim as hell). After much pulling we got the tire off...though it felt like it was rusted to the wheel.

So we put the spare on, tighten back up the lugs and things are set.

I pull out of the parking lot, take a turn, notice my wheel is vibrating then feel a sudden jolt.

The fucking tire fell off the wheel.

Apparently the lugs did not fully hold the rim flush, since they were not the proper size, so it caused the rim to wiggle and pop all 5 off. This effectively made using the spare tire more dangerous than ridding on the damn flat.

I felt like Ron White when calling my friend to turn around and come help me again: "The wheel fell off. It fell off.....IT FELL THE FUCK OFF!"

Only damage done to my truck? The dust shield got a little bent and it makes a bit of a noise. But it's one of those things where it sounds a lot worse than it actually is. I just needa get under there and bend it back.....but lazy.
