Did they say what the release plan for the movie was?

As for Anakhi, who is the guy from the south? Not sure what issue you are referring to, but as the mystery of the girl's conditioned is revealed, we see more of her transformations. The first one we get a decent look at seems to be a werewolf (or some kind of dog/cat-family transformation). The directors never clarified which animals she changed into specifically in the Q&A, but they didn't like werewolves but liked the idea of them, so they put a spin on the concept with their film. I remember a werewolf, snake, scorpion, Octopus or Squid (unclear) and some were ambiguous as far as I know. I actually stopped watching for the TF and kept watching for the story. It's very unique.

There is nudity, particularly with the biggest transformation. There is also tail growth, but it is more amusing and will disappoint anyone expecting to see the tail grow.

Even if the transformation disappoints viewers on this website (or elsewhere), it's a fantastic character-driven piece worthy of multiple viewings. The girl is gorgeous and the story has humour, charm, and even scares.

If you guys don't believe that I saw it, I don't care. Wait for the film yourself. It will be a while before it's online. I won't spoil what the girl is, because it kind of ruins the mystery of the film. Telling you that she transforms into various animals is a big enough spoiler anyway. I went into this film not even knowing there would be TF. I read a vague logline and bought tickets. Was pleasantly surprised and you guys will be too. It meets the quota for all these disappointing indie films that we keep holding out hope for.
where did you find it? O.o

It's me xD... At least "south of Europe :P. Anyway, in my case I watch werewolf movies even when the werewolves are male and the TF is poor or nonexistant, just because I love horror films. And I also like the "different approach" thing for these kind of movies.
And now, as you say, we will have to wait for a while to see what do we have for the "fetish thing" .

Well, if it's premiering at TIFF: http://twitchfilm.com/2014/09/first-...ly-creepy.html - then....still doesn't give a great on when we're going to see it. I'm guessing if we get a US theatrical release, sometime in 2015. If VOD/DVD...same timeframe - maybe an import sooner, but who knows.

Thanks a ton for sharing, this movie sounds so promising in that description! I know you're trying to avoid spoilers but I was wondering if you might elaborate a bit more on the transformations so that I know what I'm looking forward to? Such as, are they smooth or are they painful? Unwilling or is she controlling them? Skin ripping or not? That sort of thing. If you can share any details like that I'd really appreciate it.

I saw it at TIFF (obviously, it's the world premiere, hasn't been screened anywhere else). If it gets picked up at TIFF for release, it will most likely be by Entertainment One and Canadian distribution only. Doesn't mean you can't import and I will definitely be picking up a copy.

As for the transformations, the build up to them was more "erotic" ("fetish thing," as you say) than the actual TF, but the TFs looked fucking phenomenal. People were debating in another thread about how practical is the only way to go, but the directors spent ten minutes discussing how great practical effects are, but they can only do what physicality allows them to do. CGI and practical is necessary to give us the true TFs we want, and these guys definitely delivered. One of the directors did most of the CGI himself, aside from the "biggest TF," which was the tentacle thing. I don't know what animal it was though, sorry.

The transformations are forced and painful, but "necessary" (I will not elaborate as it constitutes a spoiler). To expand on "unwilling" might ruin the film for you. There is no skin ripping but after the snake TF she moults. And they are definitely not "smooth."

For the first half, before the mystery is "solved," the transformations are mysterious, terrifying, and erotic. After it is solved, they are more humourous, and maybe a little erotic. The first few "TFs" are undetermined animals because we don't see how far she gets. It's implied that it is a different animal each time. There is also some offscreen stuff, but they don't use it as an excuse to cheap out. There is always a story-related reason for everything they choose to hide.

If you want more details, you'll have to ask specific questions. I am happy to oblige, but I need to know what you want to know.

EDIT: Just remembered something. Her TFs begin with her skin doing this kind of "rotting" or "crawling" thing. Sometimes she manages to stop them before they happen, and sometimes she can't. She has some kind of injected medicine to help hold off the TF, but think of it like the "cure" in "Ginger Snaps: Unleashed." It only abates the effects for a certain time before something has to give. But unlike Brigitte, she transforms back (seemingly in the morning). Oh, and she eats live animals when transformed and when transforming. I think she tries to prevent a transformation by eating a pet rabbit (almost like zombie-Sally in Being Human Syfy), but she is unsuccessful.

Also, I personally think this will go down in the fandom as this decade's "American Werewolf in London" or this decade's "The Howling" or this decade's "Ginger Snaps." It may be too early to tell but the TFs were detailed as hell when we saw them, even if we didn't see everything.

Thanks a million for this response, it's wonderful. Would you be able to explain a bit further what you mean about the build ups to the transformations being erotic?

Well for me it was the suspense, the waiting, the knowing that the transformation is beginning. Such as when she runs away and finds a quiet place to change. Does that make sense?

EDIT: I should also clarify that while she does moult, I don't recall seeing her actually moulting, just the separated skin after the fact. I could be wrong but I don't want to get anyone's hopes up. The film as a whole was a lot to take in. I was surprisingly not focused 100% on the TF as I am with other films where the story is not nearly as fulfilling as the transformation. With this one, everything was 100% and definitely deserves numerous rewatches, not just for the TF.

GAhhhh Can't wait for this, I've been so disappointed recently that there are so many up in the air indie films with transformation elements, but to hear that one is completely confirmed and extremely good.... I literally don't know if I can wait until it's release. If anyone can dig up a photo of makeup or test material (I've tried with no luck) I would flip.
