Some research about future TF features.

Hi,

From time to time I'm busy searching through internet for good TF stuff, so I want to share with you some news about movies/series that might (or not) happen during the next years:

-Bad Blood. Directed by Tim Reis. A final version has been screened 28th Dec, so expect to see it making through the horror festivals. I've watched one of the shorts of these guys, The Goat Witch, and it looks very promising (for a tight budget, you know).

-Blue Moon. Directed by Martyn Pick. This is a short film, and it has been screened in some festivals. The good news (apart from the fact that the main character is an astonishing beautiful girl named Madalina Bellariu) is that they have attracted the attention of some inverstors, and they are going to make a long feature film. Unfortunately, I still haven't found the short in Internet, just a BTS footage.

-Lykantropi. Swedish teaser about a girl in wheelchair infected with licanthropy. They are searching for funds and investors, so there is nothing yet out there. You can find it on Vimeo.

-Kiss of a Wolf. Starring Miranda Magee, it is a short of a female werewolf. It seems that the promotion of the short has not been fruitful, so we won't probably have the chance of seeing something.

-The Howling. These are big words, but the truth is that we have no news about the expected reboot of one of the best werewolf movies ever, apart from the fact that Emaji Entertaiment holds the rights of it... ah, Marsha is still one of the hottest female werewolves ever.

-Plain Sight. RO Pictures has this project in pre-production, and there is no news about this out there, apart from the nice teaser posters posted by Cal O'Connell.

-Bitten. Season 3. The last season has started this weekend, and there was no female werewolf TF on screen (as usually). There is a remote chance of seeing one Elena minor TF (by the experience from the previous season), and one girl (Sofia Banzhaf) that even not being a werewolf herself, maybe could be "infected" . As usually, keep your hopes low on this after what they did with Dr. Bauer in season 2.

-Underworld. I have to mention this, but you all know that you are not going to see a female werewolf there.

-The Lost Lands. Adaptation from a George RR Martin text, there would be some female werewolves in it. No news, save for the fact that Milla Jovovich could be aboard. It is in the development hell right now.

Well, that's all by now... not much, and nothing that could be the "grail of female TF", but IMHO this is better than in the old times, believe me .

You are extremely dedicated! I have to say it's nice knowing you're on the case for all of these projects, knowing that I hadn't even heard of half of them until now. Thanks for the hard work, Anahki.

Re: Some research about future TF features.

I kind of doubt anything interesting can come out of The Howling at this point. My favorite howling movies were 3 and 5. Those were fun movies because of a murder mystery and exploring a cult. They had to prove something beyond just being about werewolves. The mentality then was "What can we do with the Howling name?" Now it's "We're making a werewolf movie. Let's call it Howling."

Most interesting thing I could hear about a new Howling is if it was a direct continuation of the last movie, with all actors reprising the surviving characters. Then at least they'd have to do something interesting with their direction.

Why are they still making Underworld movies.

Well, about the Howling the best thing I can say is that "maybe" a change in the ownership of the rights of the franchise could add some fresh air... I mean, I disagree with you about the last Howling Reborn. It was simply bad as hell, and also was a failed chance to get some "werewolfsploitation" . Man, the female cast was hot... pity.

And about Underworld, they have that crappy mentality of "action-werewolves" that have created aberrations like Skinwalkers or the recent corpse called Wolves (aka who said Jason Momoa could save a bad script?).

Btw, I forgot another two:

-She-wolf of the woods. You all have seen the short film on Internet (the link is in this forum, but I am too lazy to search), but the producers are searching for investors to make the feature film. Well, some months have passed, and it seems that the project has become stagnant.

-Vargulf. Like the previous one, they are looking for investors. You can see the teaser on Vimeo https://vimeo.com/104376972 but I suspect that they are also having problems to find financiation.

Anyway, I am also keeping an eye on some sites like clips4sale, although we all know who is the only producer that makes decent (well, you know what I mean ) stuff...

Re: Some research about future TF features.

Don't get me wrong, what little I saw of Howling 2011 looked like a waste of video. I just want to see more scenarios like the Fast and The Furious play out; where the right person comes on-board and says "I'll take it from here."

I know werewolf movies are probably the easiest movies to spot-check for TF, but are any other promising monster movies on the horizon? Whenever I've tried to keep abreast of horror movies I get worn down scrolling past pages and pages of torture porn.

Just curious about something you mentioned about the show bitten. Where are you viewing these new episodes as I thought syfy was only releasing the shows on mondays?

nevermind: just figure out that space.ca has the episodes earlier.

Re: Some research about future TF features.

Holy shit, i didn't know the people making bad blood also did "Goat Witch"! That short is really well produced. If they put the same effort into a werewolf movie, we should be in good hands (meaning it'll likely be a horrible letdown)

One more thing to look out for, " She-Wolf Rising". It's out now on amazon VOD, but I've been waiting for a DVD copy to avoid Amazon's viewing restrictions. The effects are far from great, but it's something for those of us hungry for anything we can find.

Re: Some research about future TF features.

Here my answers:

@Zesty: No. Get your own shit out there. thanks for your completely useless post.

@nomnomnom13: Yes. Just be careful, there are many fake video links out there, but ti shouldn't be difficult to get the episode from the last Friday on Space . I like the series, even knowing that they are not very TF-friendly.

@Thrillerboy: I've read somewhere that Mary Malloy has her breasts exposed during the transformation. I understand that they use the efect of using the prosthetics on different stages of the transofrmation, and then swap them when the camera changes... simple and effective. Anyway, I'm now looking for that "She Wolf rising", thank you bro.

-I could add one called "The American werewolf project", but the movie is "missing in action". It was supposedly finished last year, but I have no news on it, sorry.

I found the American werewolf project out there a few months ago, and it was a total dud from what I remember. Check it out for yourselves, maybe I missed something. (Set ad blockers to high)
