Iray renders appear in increments, each a little less grainy than the last. It's possible to get a semi decent looking render in under an hour, but I always cook 'em up for much much longer. I used to use Poser (5, I think) myself, then gave DazStudio a spin. Took me a little while to re-wire my brain to the different layout, but nowadays, I find it pretty damn usable. I like it. Poser probably has a bit more going for it under the hood, but Daz is catching up fast and is $FREE

Holy crap dude, 8-40 hours?

I don't think I've ever gone over the pre-set 2 hour max.
