I didn't read the whole article, but it sounds like they're in a "Anthrocon" "Furriecon" etc.

AnthroCon, or as they call it, AC. It's been all over FurAffinity. Fun to watch the media laugh at them, though.

'They're heeeeere!"

Whenever this annual topic comes up, I'm always tempted to ask when furries became the new trekkies.

It used to be the Star Trek and Star Wars cons that were always made fun of...and they really, really should have them both in the same town one year. I want to see the nerd war that ensues.

On the subject of trekkies.

Did I ever mention that the bully at my elementary school was a trekkie?

Yeah, I constantly had my arse handed to me by a star-trek nerd.

It's been my experience that Furs are some of the nicest people youll ever meet. I'm not one myself, but I know a lot of them. They just have some of the unfortunently horriblily sick stereotyping in existance.

No, they dont all have sex while in thier suits...

From my experience, they're just people. The act of being a furry doesn't make them any nicer or meaner than anyone else. Some are nice, some are dicks. Some are down to earth, some are condescending and elitist. It's a fairly wide group, there are a lot of different types of people in it.

They are stereotyped because that group that is the basis of it does exist. It may not represent the majority of the group, but it's still there. It's unfortunate for those it doesn't represent that they get lumped in with it, but that's life, every group has negative stereotypes.

Nah...
I was just the standard off-beat, who wasn't very good at sports or motivated for such.
Also, I had my methods of tricking him.
Such as the old "Look, a distracting thingie", and then...
I stole his cookies.
